Please I need your expert opinion on a building step decision I want to take.
My Engr (very good) is suggesting the monoslope parapet (hidden) roof for my mini duplex. He considers it's low cost and aesthetics and promises it will be well done.

I have read widely about its two major concerns. 1. Risk of leakage and need for routine maintenance longterm. 2. More noise and heat due to pitch or air volume inside the roof.
My major concern with this type of roof, though I like the thought of it not being popular where the building is (South East), is that it's a village house and will be visited only 3 or 5 times a year.

Please help me make a decision. Thanks

Pls did you have the water tanks on the roof slab or on a separate stanchion?

Initially we have the water tanks on the roof slab but the pressure wasn't good enough so we raise it with steel pipe stands to about 2 meters.

That's an interesting one which we might face then.
The general belief is that the building height will be sufficient.... so was the low pressure experienced on the topmost floor only or across all the way down?
