Rgade:
That's how it usually goes. The west manufactures a new disease, soon enough it spreads to Africa. Then they control the disease in their own countries, Africa struggles to control it too, but fails.
Before long, the disease naturalizes in Africa and assumes an African identity. And then the west begin their subtle discrimination of Africa, while throwing handouts and intervention funds at us every now and then.
It's happened several times before, that's how all these so called "tropical diseases" came about.

Mrchippychappy:

No be your useless hushpuppi and his yoruba gang put black list on Nigeria? How can you have someone like Abike dabiri, a government official subtly supporting Hushpuppi and you have the guts to come here to talk about Igbo people!!! Look how your Yoruba brother is bringing bad press to Nigerians abroad. Now innocent, honest hardworking Nigerians are being harassed in Dubai all because of this over-bloated Tinubu protege called Olorunwa Abass aka HUSHPUPPI
You are correct, he disgraced Nigeria globally but you have not looked at the big picture. You are a kid.
IGBOs make up around 18% of Nigeria's population but feature in 90% of global crimes involving Nigerians. They also make up majority of prisoners, death-row and executed abroad!

For every hushpuppi, Fulani Herdsman, Abacha, Deizani....there are 100 IGBO drug dealers, fraudsters and criminals!

Dear OP,

Please try to always get your news right and read in between lines before misleading the public. The EU countries failed to agree on a common list of exclusion of entry. But they have a DRAFT list of countries who have handled the pandemic better and a proposition was made with that 54 country list which was rejected by the EU member states. Nothing has been announced yet as per exclusions as negotiations are still ongoing with the EU members meeting in Brussels today(as announced by CNN this morning)

So kindly wait till we get official news from the EU meeting after today and we will know if Nigeria was actually excluded but as of now, there is no such thing. Google EU travel updates and u will understand better.

What did I say. Our poor handling of this pandemic from Day -1 will mean we will be one of the last countries to solve it and we will be a pariah nation in the interim. Just read my posts on this matter as far back starting February.

Not only will we be locked out from most parts of the civilised world for a season but anyone from tourists who come here to investors who visit on business will be affected. It will be hard for them to return home. At a period where we need all the resources and help available.

To say that this government has turned a major problem into a hydra headed one is an understatement. Just poor quality leadership and governance through and through.

What this government sees at the scene of the accident is what I personally envisage 100 kilometres from it. Folks, we need visionaries and thoroughbred intellectuals handling the affairs of this complex country if we are ever going to get it right. We have dined with sentiment for 50 years and never seen a better tomorrow.
You've said it all.

You should be ashamed of yourself!
If you have to bring up a small number of infractions by other Nigerian tribes (that make up 82% of the population) as supposed to IGBOs (who are 18%) and responsible for 90+% of Nigerian crimes abroad then we have a problem.

People like you should shut up and embark on ways to stop the IGBO crime culture that is destroying Nigeria's reputation globally!

Nigerian politicians love to go to Europe, maybe this will turn their head in the right direction (probably not). And for people thinking that Nigeria is unfairly targeted, USA is also banned. Nigeria has not stabilized its recorded cases which is still climbing day by day.

You are the one who started the tribal bashing or have you forgotten? We were all talking about the EU's decision to keep Nigeria out and next thing I know you decided to show yourself for the low life scum that you are by bringing some unnecessary and unrelated tribal arguement to this issue. You are talking about everyday people BUT I am telling you that you have criminals occupying reputable positions in the south western Nigeria political scene.

The price we have to pay for negligence and incompetence from the top and also from citizens. The glory we had for curbing the Ebola all gone.

How beautiful it would have been if we had shut down the country earlier and be Covid19 free. That would have been a positive for this cursed country after a long while

GEJ is not perfect, but he is far better than Buhari. I am not even a major fan of GEJ because he was a very weak president, and he allowed his wife to be running the show in some areas, but he is head and shoulders way better than Buhari
You need to leave this country ...maybe try Kenya

Mr boss mustapha you have seen the multiplier effects of over inflating covid 19 figures, for your selfish and personal gain. you and that ncdc midgets bunch of old fools trying to enrich your pockets so that WHO, UNICEF, EU countries commission, bill gates foundation, free ventilators from Trump and deduct the money from the treasury into you personal pockets, nigerian satanic companies like access Banks, and swarming locusta business men to donate monies to the PTF for all of you to embezzle and siphoning and wiring into your various wallets.
from the reality now, from midnight which is your official hours for announcing your scripted figures to the public, I know that the cases will be drastically reduced from tonight cause elitist politicians will want to travel to Europe, so you will be forced to drop the figures drastically

Europe are just racists, they included India that has half a million cases and they themselves cursed with the virus with almost 200,000 deaths and still the second wave is surging in their place, Nigeria that fares far much better than all of them are excluded, is time we take our own destiny in our own hands
pls start using your brain before posting. Europe ban America, brazil,Nigeria and other countries because of high rate of Coro and I don't know why Nigeria are taking it personal

By the grace of God, this is my last year in this country. As soon as the border is opened, Europe straight. So, I pray the border is opened soon. Now, I understand why some people dont look back when they leave. It was hard for me to not look back, but this time, the day I leave again is the day I dust my legs. I will live very long in good health in freedom, but I will only say hello to Nigeria only and only if necessary. My passport will be at the bottom of my luggage cos I do not pray to ever find a situation I will need it. I will rather take visa to enter Nigeria again than use the passport. This is my wish which I am forced to make public so God can answer my prayer. I am done with Nigeria.

Hahahahha.......home will always be home brother no matter the condition back home. Nigeria government needs to tidy up things as fast as possible to wade off the looming dangers in view. May God see you through

Does it mean that Nigerians already out of Nigeria are affected by the recent Europe entry ban?

I used to be pro "home is the place of retirement". But after digesting the story of Abraham how he left Haran for Cannan and never looked back, I realised that my home is my place of destiny. Abraham took Lot along and was slowed down. I left this country for a decade and returned to contribute to her development, but what I am seeing is really beyond me. To find one honest Nigerian is so hard. Amen, God will see me through. I cannot pray for Nigeria again myself cos I am tired. I can only encourage others to keep praying.

The story of Nigeria is too painful. This is a country G7 countries expect to be the leader of Africa. In the 70s, Brazil, Malaysia and Nigeria were pointed at as developing nations with the expectation of becoming fully developed around this 2020. For goodness sake, look at Nigeria. This is too painful.

An example is the kind of comments on the front page of this Nairaland. It is the real Nigeria you read here. Hopeless and useless people always fighting to make comments. Useless styles of reserving spaces, and the system isn't functioning well to correct it. This is exactly what is happening in Aso Rock and in the national assembly. Hopeless people there make terrible decisions and destroying Nigeria, and the system celebrates corruption.

You are not far from the truth. Immediately you step your foot outside Nigeria, you will actually know Nigeria is the real definition of hell fire. I came to Vietnam, a country that has no mineral resources like Nigeria, all the basic amenities are in place and everything is working very fine. These stuffs were maintained with tax payers money. What a country is Nigeria? Our Government has killed the young vibrant youths.

Guys stop talking anyhow, European union said they will only open the border to countries that have opened their border to them. So the sooner Nigeria opens their borders, the sooner we get included in the list of countries allowed. We don't have much cases as others, so that's the only logical explanation.
