Doctors in the house..please help a brother. As I was having some body sprains, I bought this drug yesterday for painkiller (CLOFENAC SR) But when I Googled it I found out it was banned in Nigeria since 2015 due to some after effects it has. I learnt that it causes heart failure and kidney failure...though
I have already taken one dose out of it before the discovery. My question now is, did they banned it true? Because it seems very effective after taking the one dose. Does doctors prescribe it for patients? Please if it was banned as Google claims, what is other effective recommend able painkiller?
Lalasticala...please help push to FP for professional hearings

Banned in Nigeria? Well... I do not know if that is correct, but from experience. Diclofenac rises blood pressure, also causes bloating, cloudy urines and more, it has side effects even though it is active analgesics. So, its on you bro... If it was banned you wouldnt see it on some rampant pharmacy.. Just like codine

Stupid question!
Didn't you see where he wrote "bought the drug yesterday"?
Do Nigerians visit hospitals for prescription before rushing to buy them from pharmacy shops?

You guys are always on the lookout for doctors' errors, but you're the ones killing yourselves.
Meanwhile, Diclofenac is not banned anywhere. That's the kind of confusing information one gets when he chooses to become his own doctor without the necessary qualifications.
If patients start reading drug leaflets, they'll certainly not take any drug in their lifetime, as they'll misinterpret every information contained therein.

Keep shut.

That he bought it yesterday doesn't explain how he got the prescription.

A doctor with a valid license will not prescribe drugs not in use in a country.

Oga, abeg stop quoting me.

That everyone goes to the pharmacy to buy drugs without doctor's prescription does not make it right.

Btw, I never said it was banned, I'm just talking about his doubt. All the same, stop quoting me, I'm not feeling fine. undecided

Oga calm down. No dey shout.... We have bunch of OTC drugs that Patients can actually get even without prescription.

The point in this thread is very simple... He got the drug and asked for help, simple...

You protesting over self medication here is not necessary, many do not have opportunity to meet doctors, many also do not feel its necessary to meet doctors over headache or body pains... So quit shouting

Maybe you're one of those selling all sorts of drugs in your pharmacy shops without prescription.
Diclofenac is not one of your OTC drugs, except in a lawless country.
One day you'll sell to a PUD patient and give him gastric perforation
