I really don't know what happened to them.

I was highly optimistic that they will thrive.

They even tried to stay this long with our unstable government policies.. Imagine Lagos state banning tricycle and motorcycles months after reaching agreement with Oride.

This people were rushing and were just pumping money into the business just to gain people's loyalty, look what has become of them now.

I could remember every friday discount on Oride and Ocar where you take trip to anywhere within lagos and pay 10naira on oride and 200naira on ocar, they forgot nigerians are the most disloyal people on earth, after awoof, they forget them and move on with their competitors.

Amen, but in naija that is mostly what we do, throw it on God to provide.
We are most of the time good at destroying and not creating. We chose a recessionists gov, civil servants or politicians that cannot create anything but wake up and destroy an entrepreneurs sweat.
Nipost cannot deliver courier but want small-time private Okada driven delivery folks to pay 2m.
Ministry of aviation cannot run a national airline ie Nigeria airways but shamelessly wants to regulate entrepreneurs with their airlines.
Transport ministry regulating shipping but could not run NNSL ie defunct Nigerian national shipping line.
They cannot build houses but want to regulate private developers.
It goes on and on.

Its terrible

I knew this was going to happen. I was sceptical about thier business model when they started thr Opay okada in Ibadan. I kept on asking them how they made thier money when a ride that cost 1000 naira is charge at a flat of 100 naira.

I was not satisfied with every answer they gave at every instance.

okada ride cost 1k in ibadan

This same thing happened to Dunlop. Secured a loan for expansion and new facilities after getting approval from President Good luck. There was a policy change (ban on tire importation was lifted) few months after and they ran into terrible lose. They packed and left for Ghana according to story that was going around then. You know it's difficult to get the truth in naija.

It seems dey just entered Nigeria and started biz just like dat. Even Lagos state denied dem. Dey came through d Backdoor and want to do everything at once just like the illegal mining Dey were doing too But if it was a Nigerian dat wants to start bizness in dier country it will b like passing through d needle eye.

They came with $50M. Anywhere in the world should a company go with that amount, business commences.

With all the awoof ride they did..... Business in Nigeria is such a tough environment.. Only the rugged survives or smoke screen companies.. It is not easy i must confess... From running cost to high cost of production.... Covid or no covid i knew they will not last in the transportation business....

Sir, They were sound and fine until the govt banned okada from most roads.
