Fire on Monday gutted a section of the World Trade Centre building located in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

An eyewitness told The PUNCH that the fire started from the top of the skyscraper which dots the skyline of Central Business District, Abuja as smoke billowed from the pinnacle.

First responders including firefighters have since been drafted to the incident scene.

Since it began in 1939 in New York, United States, the World Trade Centre brand has since become global trade hubs in more than 90 countries including Nigeria.

It's just another day in Nigeria. The government should do quick and finish the Millennium Tower. I have waited for that edifice's completion since 2010.

Oh okay, not even confirmed yet to be there. Firefighters don't have water coz no light to pump water. You can't blame PHCN workers, coz oga at the top don embezzle budget money, meant to cater for power problems. Nah, well you can't blame oga at the top too, they were appointed by the government people vote into office. Let's not forget when they eventually pump the water with generator, even potholes might even delay them, due to bad roads... Summary abi? Let the building kuku burn down jare. I'm off to site for my 2k.
