Following the public outcry over the inhumane treatment of Seaman Haruna Goshit, serving personnel of the Nigerian Navy in a viral video by Rear Admiral Ifeola Mohammed, A motion of urgent public importance was raised by member representing Mallamalori/Kawgama Federal Constituency and Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Defence, Rt Hon Abubakar Yalleman, regarding the inhuman treatment of Navy Seaman Haruna Goshit by Rear Admiral IO Mohammed, and other reported maltreatment of Naval ratings by their superior officers, as well as irregularities in promotion and recruitment of naval officers from 2015 to date.

The House resolved at a plenary on Tuesday 14th July 2020, that the House Committee on Navy, headed by Rt Hon Yusuf Gagdi, who happens to be from Plateau state, the same state as Seaman Haruna, in compliance with statutory provisions, hold a public hearing to look into the above-mentioned malady.

In furtherance of the above, the House Committee on Navy has scheduled a public hearing on Monday 20th July, 2020 by 11am where all the affected personnel are mandated to cause appearances and defend themselves accordingly.

in a press release exclusively obtained by Swagalicious Flikz, signed by a Senior Legislative Aide to Honorable Yusuf, Pharm Mizim Haruna Dagung , the committee has given the Naval authority up to Thursday 16th July, 2020 to submit all relevant documents regarding the above mentioned subject to the committee.

Even though soldiers are tasked to always obey without complain, I think the officer took the best option by making a public outcry.
If he had reported to a higher superior, the complaint would have still leaked to his direct boss and his punishment would double.

However, same cannot be applied to other cowards in military wears e.g one impersonator, Lance corporal Martin, —trained, decorated, and arrested by Sahara reporters all on their own.
Little wonder, no credible news source aired the news neither was their any public outcry after SR claimed he had been detained by the Nigerian Army.

Another example are those cowards sent to battle Boko Haram and then they begin to release clips that they had spent 2 weeks in the bush and people should come to their aid.
For Christ sake, what were you trained and armed for?
