The best soil for germinating your seeds should have the following characteristics:-
Light not heavy
Should not retain water
Not contain fertilisers as this can react withheld seeds sometimes leading to damage.

You will need the following for a perfect soil mix

Compost (homemade or shop bought
Perlite
Vermiculite
Coconut coir

Place a cup each into a bowl of your choice.

And mix them up all together.

You can either wet it before or after placing the seeds in the soil.

Once your seeds have germinated and brought out their first true leaves you can transplant them in a bit more heavier soil with good drainage and some plant feed like fishbonemeal.

Or liquid feed eg miracle grow
