TonyRazor FG asks police to leave Niger Bridge to reduce load The Federal government has asked the police to clear from the Niger Bridge to ease movement of vehicles on the facility. Federal Controllers incharge of Anambra and Delta States, Adeyemo Ajani and Moshood Jimoh, stated this while conducting journalists round the project on Friday. They said, " We've alerted the Police Command to relocate the police post close to the bridge for easy movement of vehicles. They maintained that the presence of the police on the bridge was the reason vehicles were static on it, thereby posing threat to it. Their reaction followed an alarm raised by Nollywood Actor, Yul Edochie that the Bridge was shaking and may detach and collapse . The controllers however said the bridge was not in any structural danger as alarmed by the Nollywood actor in a viral video. They said, "Government has not, in any way abandoned the bridge as being speculated. "The Federal Ministry of Works and Housing awarded the emergency repairs of the bridge to Matiere-Johnson Consortium Ltd on 6th August 2013 with an extended completion date of 31st December 2019. "The emergency repairs had been substantially completed. We urge the public to disregard such rumour, purporting that the bridge is in danger
