And how many coaches in d modern era have excelled without spending extravagantly? Mourinho's Chelsea were d heaviest spenders in d league wen he came in, Klopp spent over 150m on a defender and a goalkeeper.... Ferguson had to buy off Van Persie from Arsenal to win d league before he retired.. Going by ur logic of heavy spending, d likes of West Ham United and Everton shld b competing with the big boys considering how heavily dey spent on their squad.

I don't don't think pep is a fraud, his most successful stinct was with Barca and he didn't spend much, in fact on the contrary he made allot of money selling off older players and walking the academy guys into the team, most of the recent Barca legensd were built during his time. Also at Bayern he didn't spend too extravagantly. And it's a whole new ball game with mancity, if we look at how much pep has spent in mancity compared to what his predecessors spent then you would say it's is considerable fair.. it's not like he brought in heavy spending into the club. It's been a pattern before he came on and also his competitions like man utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham are also heavy spenders. So pep is not a money coach..


As a footnote I think pep misses Arteta too much, that seat was supposed to be occupied by Mikel Arteta, he had gotten so used to communicating with him that it had become a force of habit..��

Remember he built his reputation by selling big players and building players of lesser reputation at Barcelona. Though he buys players to sustain the reputation now, it doesn't make him a fraud. After all, he develop the so called good players to become better.
