Good question, the essence is to show that an eye for an eye makes no sense, and also to provide jobs for prison officers and prison staffs, although some of the white like in America still sentence killers to death so nigeria is not actually copying white people entirely and oh! i forgot, if they are killed just like that for them they escaped justice easily.

God knows how much I detest the Nigerian Police. My neighbour, an astute business man and a perfect gentleman, was killed in cold blood in his residence and even transfered 100k to the said hoodlums. The police did not step. they required the neighbours to pay them money. How come to quickly plunged into action over an Okada rider who had nothing and brought to book the perpetrators! Imagine a business with a family and good neighbours, who was transfered money immediately b4 being killed. Whose track would be easier to find between the killers of an Okada man and the business man who actually transfered into an account number of his own killers? Nigeria Police!
