Guys I am just set to buy a Benz GL 450 my first tome of transiting from japanese to benz, and a friend said its not reliable. Advise needed.

No car is unreliable. Just owners not ready to man up. Except you got a factory error car

I can speak from personal experience...... I bought a GL from Mercedes Benz(Brand new). Had vehicle for 12 years, always maintained and serviced by Mercedes Benz.....

Vehicle was problem free, till 10 years old. All sort of sensor issues, malfunctioning buttons etc etc.. ..

What you don't know.... After fixing all those issues it is good to go for another ten years

Hence my warning to OP........ It's not always smooth sailing with older mercs.........

Oga, either fat or thin..... I have owned multiple vehicles from both manufacturers, so as my relatives, families, friends and enemies........

And one overall conclusion was arrived at........

Get the ML instead. The GL uses balloons which are expensive to fix.

I am talking of the air suspension. One leg is 400k and with how bad our roads are here they always go bad. Very expensive to fix.

Avoid first year of new model vehicles. Better do the facelift model where most of the errors have been fixed.

Much better than the GL. Just ensure optimum maintenance and you won't have issues.

Please a personal question. ML 350 the first edition Vs E320 2001 which is more cost effective? HP and Torque no meaningful difference

The E320 is better. The first version of the ML was useless and the undercarriage was very prone to rust.

If you are talking of the first generation ML the w163 please get the E class. If it's the second generation the W164 get the ML
