It is amazing how supporters of the governor lie so ignorantly. I was shocked when a man on TV parroted a debunked lie that Obaseki has reduced the debt burden of the state Edo from $179m to $85m and that was one of his achievements. Nothing can be farther from the truth. I have attached below Debt Management Office statistics of indebted states both local and foreign. I have attached both for 2016 when he came in and 2019/20 as at the latest DMO publication. The records are verifiable from the DMO website.
For those in Edo let's ask ourselves what has obaseki done with about $100m and #42bn borrowed in addition to over #20bn Paris fund and over #82 in IGR.

For years he has lied he refused to share money and godfather wanted him to share money. With the savings can we point to any legacy projects with these humongous revenues? Yesterday he said he has over 4000 projects but he doesn't commission them. He must really think his supporters are stupid to believe that because the enlightened Edos which I am a proud member of will ask questions.

Obaseki should and will account for everything he has collected.

Learn to open your eyes and ask questions. Do not only look at issues from the angle of pdp and apc. Because doing that you are the one the politicians fool. Speak to the issues. Ask questions irrespective of party.only then can we have accountable leaders. The same people who insulted apc and pdp just months ago are singing different tunes.

When you say the truth they start calling you names like afonja, tinubustooge or apc apologist etc.
Just not up to four years yet but obaseki has borrowed more than what two administrations of 8 years each left as debt of the state and yet there's nothing to commensurate it as projects on ground, pensioners are protesting, roads are worse off, no industry ,nothing ,nothing just mou mou and more mou, he campaigned with projects like completion of the important Benin water storm project, gelegele seaport, modular refineries but as at today nobody talks about these, what we see as achievement is renovation of stadium and secretariat, yahaya Bello did 2x better than obaseki is doing now in his first term but was castigated althrough the nation but I dont really know why edo is different, since the return to democracy it would be very hard to see a governor as clueless, rudderless, and useless and deceptive as obaseki is, a tyrant that travels nook and crannies of the earth to court investors but yet destroys the little business in his state because the owners dont support him.
I am just a consigned edolite who manages a little business in Benin, I dont do party politics .
