Upperhill in Nigeria maybe. You need to know upperhill was recently a residential estate. But surely every slums in kenya have street lights. Nope..even village centers in rural kenya have traffic lights.

As for side walks - Nairobi need a lot of those - that in my view - side walks/footpaths and the slums - is what makes Nairobi an Africa city - otherwise it would be as good as any developed world city.

Our mixed economic system allows

IMF don't really finance or sponsor project. They are like Central Bank of Ghana. They are the world Central Bank. World Bank is like commercial or development bank.

Now IMF get called when shit has hit the fan or just about to in Ghana's Treasury or Public finance.

They come with rescue or bailout package with tough conditionalities to get you out of the quagmire.

These conditionality's are almost the same - reduce budget deficit - cut public expenditure - cut social investment and spending - liberalize the economy - privatize the public sector - reduce public wages

You can call it's fiscal conservative policies to get you back on track - and spending again. These are common boilerplate policies that IMF applies everywhere there is a bailout.

Before IMF come with bailout - Ghana on it's own would probably have abandoned those projects unable to fund them anyway.

IMF will just come to fire civil servants and other unpopular decisions.

Far from what you are used to in your country,
Abandoned projects in Ghana are as a result of Politics,

Whenever there is a change of Government, the new Government as a form of payback and sometimes trying to discredit the past Government, they decide to discontinue ongoing projects that where started by previous Government to score a point that the previous administration did nothing.

these abandoned projects are GoG sponsored projects and PPP sponsored projects.

Projects that have foreign sponsorship/funding always sees completion regardless of the delay tactics always being employed by the new Government.

Stop behaving like you know something about abandened projects in Ghana.

Kenyan IMF abandoned projects is not the yardstick for Ghana
