Balogunodua:True. But where are the Nok today? You see your life ![]() The Igbo remain the oldest group in Nigeria today and probably across West Africa. |

FrLukas:Benin Kingdom is a tier lower compared to the height of the Nok and early Igbo civilizations . ![]() They are just more talked about as the most recent. I still talk am again : ordinary Benin ![]() |
| Re: The Origin Of Arochukwu, Ohofia, Abam And Ututu People Of Abia State by Balogunodua(m): 12:51pm On Jul 30, 2020 |
SlayerForever:You are still confused ![]() There is no settlement in Igboland that predates that of ife or any west Africa settlement, and the Igbos were not the oldest group in Nigeria or west Africa infact the Eredo Sungbo in Ijebu dated back to 500AD so you have to understand what we are saying here is that the Igbo Ukwu were the earliest iron smelter in west Africa not the oldest group and their bronze is not even the best, cause the lack the techniques found in the earlier Ife and Benin bronze mainly soldering, wire making etc. You can go make your research. |
| Re: The Origin Of Arochukwu, Ohofia, Abam And Ututu People Of Abia State by SlayerForever: 1:02pm On Jul 30, 2020 |
Balogunodua:Continue running about. You're talking 500 AD while Nok and the Igbo civilizations have been present a millennium earlier. To even support my stand the wire making and soldering are newer innovations. The Igbo Ukwu artworks were widely defined as using crude unfamiliar methods by archeologists showing these methods are much more earlier and independently developed. We're talking centuries older. You're arguing but you don't know the Benin art that came centuries later was heavily Nri influenced. Nonsense. You're yet to answer me: Where are the Nok today? |

SlayerForever:You don't need to roll in the mud with these sub Africans, kingdoms are things of the medieval Era, we've passed such nonsense that is why they don't understand our way of life. We are Republicans in nature but in ancient times when we were in the level bini and Yoruba are now we had kings like Eze nri, Eze aro, obi nnewi and so on |

SlayerForever:Hahahaha... You only pained my friend the Ife bronze heads are pure copper using the lost wax techniques, the Olokun head still remains the only realistic bronze head that ever came out of Africa till date, the Europeans were wowed at the realism of the Olokun head that made them compare it to the lost Atlantis civilization and it displayed all around the world. |

Nwanyiogwashi:You have to know Bini people are experts and historical 419. Ikwerre people have already fallen victim to it. Benin people are not up to 2 million, yet they are trying to convince nonentities that 40+ million Igbos came from Igodomigodo. They are 419ners. But see how the Benin people are always sharp to ensure they don't show respect to Nri, the cultural fathers of Benin people. They don't want to show the needed respect to Nri, but they want some ignorant Igbos to show them respect as their fathers. |
| Re: The Origin Of Arochukwu, Ohofia, Abam And Ututu People Of Abia State by OfoIgbo: 1:49pm On Jul 30, 2020 |
SlayerForever:Nri people held sway in Igodomigodo. Historical books allude to that. Nri people were also the cultural/religious guardians of Benin empire. Nri kingdom started perhaps up to a thousand years before the 9th century AD being ascribed to Nri's origin. That date only truly denotes the dating of the Igbo-Ukwu excavations which were attributed to the Nris, through Oraeri, an Nri offshoot. But it has been erroneously passed on, as the period that Nri civilisation started. Benin people still use the 4 market days instituted by the Nris. They cannot deny that fact, as it is one of the very few cultural elements of Nri, that survives till present day. |

SlayerForever The oldest Igbo Ukwu bronze dated back to 840AD so it does not predates Ijebu Eredo Sungbo stop lying the nok culture is by far the oldest dating back to 200BCE. |
| Re: The Origin Of Arochukwu, Ohofia, Abam And Ututu People Of Abia State by OfoIgbo: 1:59pm On Jul 30, 2020 |
Balogunodua:Nri predates Ife by possibly more than a thousand years. Ife's achievements is only provable from 12th -14th century AD https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/If%E1%BA%B9 Tomorrow, you will tell us Ife invented coal-tar. And the Portuguese that were in Benin in the 1400s claimed that the papal figure to the east of Benin, was the greatest of such figure in the whole vicinity. Now I know Ife is probably closer to Benin, that any of the core umu Nri towns, yet the Benin people made such a statement to the Portuguese. What this clearly shows is that Nri was far greater than Ife. To put it in another way. Igbos (Nri) are greater than Yorubas (Ife) |

Etinosa1234:Good now that you have admitted that Ika and Igbanke populate the local government, let's move forward. The Idu aborigines I refered to are aborigines of my land Igodomigodo Idu descendants. They are not Benin. ille binu is Oredo, Egor, Ovia local government areas. That is the place we leased to ille ibinu people which you have not been able to pay rent anyway. Those are the three local governments Benin people occupy in Edo South. Other local government areas are aborigines of Igodomigodo |

Etinosa1234:I did my research and I saw this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edo_State In it, it states that Edo state has a population of 3.2 million. Now I know that there are other ethnic groups in Edo state, so by the time you remove the populations of the other non-Bini ethnic groups, I am sure Bini population will come down to around 2 million. According to that page, Bini-speaking people occupy 7 out of the 18 LGAs in Edo state and constitute 57+% of the state. Please find out what 57% of 3.2 million is. You will notice that it is slightly below two million. Do you research well please |
