Nri predates Ife by possibly more than a thousand years. Ife's achievements is only provable from 12th -14th century AD
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/If%E1%BA%B9
Tomorrow, you will tell us Ife invented coal-tar.
And the Portuguese that were in Benin in the 1400s claimed that the papal figure to the east of Benin, was the greatest of such figure in the whole vicinity.
Now I know Ife is probably closer to Benin, that any of the core umu Nri towns, yet the Benin people made such a statement to the Portuguese. What this clearly shows is that Nri was far greater than Ife. To put it in another way. Igbos (Nri) are greater than Yorubas (Ife)
Wikipedia ke cheesy any Tom and Dick can edit wiki grin Nri does not predate Ife, Ife has been existing before Nri the pave road in Ife courtyard shows that the kingdom has been flourishing since 800AD.

The Origin of Arochukwu, Ohofia, Abam, Ututu etc. - by Prof. J. Akuma-Kalu Njoku.

Around 16 century, the southern part of Igboland was originately inhabited by Oru people before some Igbos in the Northern part migrated to join Oru due to population pressure and depletion of quality of farmland.
*Note the Oru people who were the aborigines of The land stem from Igodomigodo.*

In addition to southward migration, another group of migrants, the Mben - Owan group, migrated from Igodomigodo/Edo State eastward across the Niger River and passed through Oru moving further eastward until they came to a place they called Be Ndi (Bende) Igbo, meaning Igbo territory. Some of the names of these immigrants who migrated from Igodomigodo and populated Bende were; Alayi, Igbere, Nkalu Itu, Abam, Ohofia, Ututu and Arochukwu.

These Igodomigodo immigrants aggressively displaced the original Anang and ibibio inhabitants of the area and claimed their forest and lands. The case of of Abam, Ohofia and Ututu was particularly poignant because of the brutal way they went about forest and land acquisitions. They faughtand virtually wiped out or displaced the aborigines. Thus, whereas the Igbo to Oru migration and settlement pattern were marked by pacts of mutual coexistence with the aborigines of Oru, the Mben - Owan trail to Bende was marked with incidences of displacement and subjugation.

J. Akuma-Kalu is an Associate professor of Folklore and Ethnomusicology in the Department of Folklore Studies and Anthopology at Western Kentucky University.

*Nnadi Kanu is from Afara Ohofia and his ancestors are from Igodomigodo, present day Edo State. He should stop deceiving uneducated Igbos about Jewish ancestry.
First, Alayi, Ututu, Igbere, etc are not Edo words.

Secondly, that part of Igbo land don't say "Be". They say "Ibe".

So, write-up is not only fundamental flawed but lacks merit.

Otherwise, we'd like to see your source(s).

Good now that you have admitted that Ika and Igbanke populate the local government, let's move forward.

The Idu aborigines I refered to are aborigines of my land Igodomigodo Idu descendants.

They are not Benin.

ille binu is Oredo, Egor, Ovia local government areas. That is the place we leased to ille ibinu people which you have not been able to pay rent anyway.

Those are the three local governments Benin people occupy in Edo South.

Other local government areas are aborigines of Igodomigodo
U are very stupid...Where did I say ika and igbanke populate the local government
How will a district with less than 6 villages be more than the remaining 5 districts

Stop counting other people's population to yours, you idiot.

You are not up to 500,000 by population. Benin city is the state capital hence other ethnicnationalities in both within Edo State and outside Edo State reside in Benin city l.

Our differences apart, you are correct. Bini is not up to 800,000 (my generosity though)
Most people don't know that Edo state houses more than six ethnic groups that outsiders see as bini. I've been there and I know what am talking about

Paved roads mean nothing if it is not backed up by real innovation in other areas.
Even animals pave their roads to their favourite watering holes.

Every compound in any traditional society has paved paths that lead to it. You have to show us archeological findings that prove Ife is more ancient than Nri. So far, Nri has shown something created in the 9AD which totally outclasses and predates the Ife findings.

Also, I have already written about the Benin people telling the neutral Portuguese about a kingdom to the east of Benin, which was the PRE-EMINENT within the Benin vicinity (which obviously includes Ife Kingdom).

Nri got a big cultural d*ck to wield. Y'all should hide Benin and Ife cultural p*ssies in the presence of this huge cultural d*ck from the east grin grin

I did my research and I saw this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edo_State

In it, it states that Edo state has a population of 3.2 million.
Now I know that there are other ethnic groups in Edo state, so by the time you remove the populations of the other non-Bini ethnic groups, I am sure Bini population will come down to around 2 million.

According to that page, Bini-speaking people occupy 7 out of the 18 LGAs in Edo state and constitute 57+% of the state.
Please find out what 57% of 3.2 million is. You will notice that it is slightly below two million.

Do you research well please

It's quite clear that your Britannica of a thing is grouping every Edo and non-Edo person in Edo state, as Edo, but in actual fact, we know that there are non-Bini ethnic groups in Edo. Bini speaking groups only occupy 7 out of 18 LGAs in Edo state.

Otherwise, you want me to believe that Edo state has a population of around 7 million, which we all know is a huge lie, going by the Britannica figure.
Because if Bini speakers make up 57% of Edo state, and Bini speakers are 3.8 million in population, then the whole Edo state (which includes both Bini-speakers and non Benin speakers) will be chasing 7 million in total.

Bini speakers are below two million. I think Wikipedia has more accurate information with regards to Bini-speaker population.

The truth is that there is no official data showing the population of minority ethnicities (correct me with proof if I am wrong). With population of Edo state estimated to be 5 million in 2014 and the state consisting of five major ethnic groups, bini cannot be up to 800,000
