I like the word used "harvest" smiley ... That's a strong fan but guess it was used with a ups or MSW inverter , reason for its damage .

You do not have to back out of a deal for reasons bordering on location, even though scammers now use it as a ploy to defraud folks.

Consider asking an acquaintance resident in the state of the seller to conduct the transaction your behalf, or use escrow.

Na Nairaland be this...not Lagosland. People outside Lagos gatz sell sef...Make we no throway the bathing water with the pikin inside.... grin

Someone has helped me on this thread, so let me drop this tip for you free of charge. Your laptop may not be dead...

Try this:
Remove charger

Remove battery

Hold power button for at least 30secs

Plug charger

Turn on

(If it comes on)
Turn off again

Replace battery and on it then connect charger.
