lol bro all these things na still talk until we reach there... pass out come go NE and witness first ambush! Na that time we go really know wetin Dey sup... all we have na resolve now.. we’ve resolved to do it... but till we reach there... as those soldiers and officers will say... whatever you think you know, you don’t know anything...

I met one air force officer in the bus I boarded to kaduna for course 45 and I only knew his identity when he bought job for some frsc officers who were trying to extort the bus driver on the road at an army checkpoint... I moved closer to him when we got to kogi to ask him how the job is... man looked at me and said “who no come, no go know” and kept eating his food..

That’s the same thing they’ve been saying since all year round...except for the ones closest to us who indulge us by telling us the reality..

The resolve we have is that we can’t sit idle while terrorism rocks the nation... we’d rather serve than join the bandwagon complaining..and for the death part... anybody can die anywhere anytime so why not just do something with meaning

My mom would often tell me about a man that went to inquire about his death... he was told he’d die in a car accident and the man isolated himself... never went out, bought and did everything online until one day he was furious about something his wife did and was raking in the house.. he got so mad that he didn’t see his sons toy car on the floor, he stepped on it and fell backwards hitting his bead and dying instantly..last last na still car accident kill am.

Please I'd love to request that U explain IN DETAILS Sir, the MAJOR DIFFERENCE(S) BTW SSC AND DSSC, THEIR RESPECTIVE LIMITATIONS, MAX NO OF YEARS TO GET PROMOTED TO THE NEXT RANK, And Maybe The Likely Barracks The Respective CADRES might Likely get posted to based on the Corps dem dey...

Though the request appears comprehensive, but my reason for asking is Coz from my Recent observation, it seems DSSC guys AREN'T REALLY THAT EXCEMPTED from Being in the Frontline as per my chat with My soldier 4rnd currently in Monguno...

Thanks and God Bless

There is nothing like "Likely" barracks in this army job as you can be sent anywhere the only thing is that the headquarters of diff corp are scattered all over the country and one might have a cause to visit or gravitate within that area especially when it comes to taking courses, seminars etc
There are Chaplains and Imams in the field, infact have seen a video of a Chaplain preaching in an environment that looks like an isolated desert in the north east with his AK-47 beside him it's a funny sight to behold but e get why same for Muslim imams they'll be leading prayers and their AK 47 will be by their side.
If they ain't in a volatile area they won't be needing it. Whether DSSC/SSC just zero your mind as circumstances beyond you can land you in the field. That's why you undergo a basic military course, you are first a soldier before your profession.
As for years to stay on rank or getting promoted shouldn't worry you just discharge your duties diligently and stay out of trouble, the rest is secondary because whether dssc/ssc or even RC the system may or may not Bleep you up, delay or one or two commas wrt promotion is part of the job.

One questions Sir

If barracks are not really cast in stone for officers, what are the provisions for housing for wives and children of officers that are constantly on the move?

No vex say we dey badger you ooo...its just that knowledge is power.

With what I have seen officers don't move about with their families. They station them in one place especially where there are possibilities of them spending more time. e.g A naval officer will most likely keep his family in the naval base in Lagos or Rivers while he tours the country and beyond as the job demands, similar trend is obtainable in the army. Accomodation isn't an issue for married officers.

Sir, this is what I mean actually.. For example, the barracks in Abakaliki nah 24 SER which is BASICALLY for NIGERIAN ARMY ENGINEERS (NAE), with their Headquarters in Lagos.. So in this Case, how likely can AN ARTILLERY CORP OFFICER get posted to such a Place

it's very possible but most likely the Artillery officer will be the north east as he is a combatant and his services will be needed there. The late mangojuice was an artillery officer he has being in PH before he was drafted to go and fight bandits in katsina.
In summary, there is a whole lotta diff btw what is the ideal and in books and the reality on ground, officers dey call army job, madman job.
You can even be posted to a new location and within 6months general posting will come and carry you to another place whether you dey Guards brigade e no concern army especially when you are godfatherless
