The new trend in the age of COVID-19 appears to be using relief funds from the Paycheck Protection Program to buy luxury vehicles, preferably Lamborghinis. A man in Florida was arrested recently for using the money for things other than his business and a Texas man joins him in trying to fraud the federal government.

Lee Price III, 29, was arrested and charged with making false statements to a financial institution, wire fraud, bank fraud, and engaging in unlawful monetary transactions. Authorities say Price's scam was to send fraudulent PPP loan applications to federally insured banks and lenders.

He reportedly used $1.6 million of the relief funds on a Lamborghini Urus, a Rolex watch, a 2020 Ford F-350 pickup truck, and a real estate transaction. In addition to his lavish gifts to himself, Price also spent several thousand in a Houston-area strip club.

Price could face 30 years in federal prison, a $1 million fine, as well as a $250,000 fine for the unlawful transactions, charge if convicted.
