17 Lawmakers ‘Impeach’ Assembly Speaker In Edo State
In Edo state, seventeen lawmakers including 14 members whose seats have been previously declared vacant, claim that they have impeached the Speaker of the House, Francis Okiye, and his Deputy, Roland Asoro.

No, the Governor didn't declare their seats vacant rather the Speaker of Edo State HOA did after 180 days absence by the 14 elected lawmakers.

Moreover, the 14 Lawmakers took Edo HOA to court as we speak hence they should wait the verdict.

You can only declare a seat vacant when the person becomes a member of the House by taking oath of office? How can you declare the seat of a member elect who is yet to be inaugurated vacant? It is only when the member elect takes oath of office that he assumes membership of the house and a such has a seat which can be declared vacant.

Why are the 14 Lawmakers in court? What are their prayers.

The court has already declared the inauguration of the Assembly constitutional hence their absence is inconsequential to the formation of the leadership of the HOA. Remember, until they submit themselves for inauguration and participate in the Assembly proceedings, they can't effect any change.

As it stands, they are in court battling the constitutionality of HOA declaration of their seats vacant. Until then, they are not part of the process.
