This is not fair though.

There should be something that differentiates the winners from the losers.

Why reward everyone equally, when some people put in more work?

It isn't fair. It takes away the spirit of competitiveness. If they want to reward the housemates, give them something else that doesn't seem like a competition.

Or reward everyone, then give extra to those who won.
