Appeal Court Overturns Deregistration Of 74 Political Parties By INEC by ijustdey(op): 4:09pm On Aug 10, 2020

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has overturned a ruling by a lower court affirming the de-registration of 74 political parties by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The appellate court held that INEC failed to follow due process while deregistering the parties.

The court therefore declared that the deregistration was illegal and ordered INEC to relist the 74 parties.

INEC go read names of political parties tire when announcing results...some of these political parties have only logo to show.

These numerous political parties are just instruments of confusion and distraction. Some are only existing in INEC's register. No visible presence in any state or local government of the federation.

If only INEC can streamline all naija political parties to 5 via due process. If United States of America can make do with limited political parties just wondering why naija cannot emulate same system.
To some extent it will curb corruption.

What is even the essence of all these numerous useless political parties? Just waste of resources. Parties that can't even pull a vote of 1000 in an election, is that one a party?

in as much as due process should be followed, most of these parties don't have enough structures on ground to win elections. Some are used as a means of dividing opposition votes. Having too many political parties make our electoral systems weaker
