By Vincent Ujumadu

AS the debate on the 2023 Nigeria’s presidential election continues, the immediate past chief judge of Anambra State, Professor Peter Umeadi, has said it would be improper for other tribes to determine for the Igbo nation who should be the presidential candidate from the area.

Umeadi is believed to be nursing presidential ambition on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and many political and other interest groups have been visiting his Nri, Anaocha Local Government Area country home in Anambra State to assure him of their support should he secure the party’s ticket.

Receiving one of such groups led by some members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Umeadi said it is the duty of the Igbo-speaking people of Nigeria to decide the person that should carry their presidential flag, taking into consideration several issues, including experience, integrity and capacity of the person concerned.

According to him, Igbo people know their sons and what they can do, adding that when the time comes, they would tell other Nigerians who they want to present as their presidential candidate.

His words: “Other tribes should not decide for the Igbo who should be their candidate and the platform that candidate should run on in the election in 2023.

“It is our belief that the easiest means to achieve our ambition is through APGA. But we have to unite to be able to achieve what we want,” Umeadi added.

During the visit to Umeadi, a governorship aspirant on the platform of APGA, Chief Damian Okolo, expressed delight that Umeadi had decided to contest the election under APGA.

Okolo observed that every tribe had something to identify it with, adding that it was, therefore, necessary for the Igbo to remain committed to the growth of APGA.

He said: “We should rally round APGA to ensure that the identity of the Igbo remains intact and prominent politically.

“We are happy that the former Chief Judge of Anambra State has indicated interest to vie for the presidency of Nigeria on the platform of APGA and we, the Igbo nation, his immediate constituency, will give him maximum support.

“I want to sound a note of warning that if anything happens to APGA, Igbo would be relegated to the background politically.

“I, therefore, want to pledge that if I win the ticket of APGA at next year’s governorship primaries and win the governorship election in November 2021, we will work hard to realise the presidential ambition of Justice Umeadi.”

I now realised that being a professor or chief judge does not mean you cannot commit a blunder.

But for a former chief judge to refused to recognised the fact that politics is a game of number despite his background in law, or does that mean he didn't offer any selective courses in political science when he was in university?

No tribes can dictate to Igbo who to present, truly! But some other tribes can determine who wins ultimately.

So, what are the strategies on ground to market whoever's chosen to other parts of the country? Or other parties will not present candidates?

Baba, go and restrategise unless if you are just doing it for publicity purpose.

Everyone is trying hard to famzy with the Igbos. Y'all know who the Igbos are? We are the people who will always set the pace! Always the first in +ve everything. We negotiated the independence of Nigeria, we achieved Nigeria's independence. We were the first rulers of Nigeria and when we ruled things were much much better.

We were the first people to attempt the break away from Nigeria, but sadly we lost. However, even now, the Middle belt region, the Niger delta region, even the Afonja region are beginning to see that Nigerian ain't gonna work. Something we saw 50Years ago.

In 1999 when the shift from military rule to civilian rule happened, again we determined who became the president, while even his own people did not vote for him. Again we set the pace!!

In 2015, we told Nigerians that a certain man called buhari is a bad product, and as a principled people the same man buhari tried buying us by gifting to us two times his VeePee position, but we vehemently rejected it. Unfortunately, he offered that VeePee position to the afonjazees and pronto they accepted it. Well, as we are known to set the pace, those Afonjazees AKA hydraulic soup scooters are now finding out that the man buhari is nothing but a bad luck and they are now returning back to their vomit.

Many Nigerians are begining to observe rather belatedly that for things to work in Nigeria, that they need an Igbo man to be president and this is given, after all, every notable achievement in Nigeria has been through the Igbos and no other people.

Well, I hope that the rest of Nigeria will understand before it is too late that the salvation of Nigeria lies solely with the Igbos.

Good bless umu Igbo.

You're the first southerner to work with North

You're the first tribe / people to plot a coup.

You're the first tribe / people that destroyed regional government.

You're the first people to reject seccesional Clause into the constitution (Something wey Hausa and Yoruba don see)

You're the tribe that drafted this stupid constitution.

Your first time of fighting war yet you lost

You're the first tribe to run away during war (something wey Yoruba, Fulani, Nupe, igala etc can never do)

You didn't remind him that his delusional ideas of Ibo super powers in governance are all in his head as Abia State has been governed by several Igbo men for the past 21 years (including one of the clowns they're fronting) yet it still resembles a pit latrine.

We don't need such incompetence in Aso Rock.

Which incompetence can be the worst than the the failure we currently have in aso rock cheesy cheesy. If someone like buhari can rule Nigeria then I think anybody else can rule Nigeria. The last time I checked, Abia is still far ahead of kastina in every indices of development including most northwestern and northeastern States cheesy

Afonjas have no business with 2023 Presidential election.. They should be more concerned with eradicating skull mining and organ harvesting in SW before 2023 so that they will still have enough people with their heads intact to vote in 2023 general election cheesy

When you want to properly measure d!cks, compare with a similar commercial hub like Kano State which is 50x more developed than that rotten shithole called Abia. Even Katsina can never be as dirty and dilpidated like that piggery called Aba.

P.S That "failure currently in aso rock" is currently building the 2nd Niger Bridge and fixing multiple SE roads which your incompetent Ebele couldn't deliver so keep quiet and stop sounding like an ingrate.

The bottomline is No Vacancy for any Ibo Man in Aso Rock come 2023. Take that to the Bank.

But kastina state is failure and it was able to produce two time president including the failure called buhari.. Is the failure fixing those things with kastina state money..Abia state is among the state feeding ingrates like you and you people should be thankful. Gas from abia state and IMO state is still being transported to your deserts cheesy cheesy
How is kano state more developed morethan abia state in which aspect cheesy The last time I checked, abia state literacy level is far ahead of that of kano.Abia state has produced more personalities that have made Nigeria proud than the entire Northwestern states compared together cheesy cheesy.
