The matter is a straight fight between Babalakin, the Governing Council Chair and the VC.

ASUU, Unilag Chapter is backing the VC, and during their Congress declared Babalakin a persona non grata in the institution.

Twice, the Governing Council had scheduled meeting at the Council chambers, however, ASUU will also fix their meetings there....same time and same venue. Hence, it was moved yesterday to Abuja.

The sacked VC has been disrespectful towards the governing council. Recently he fixed a convocation without due approval by the council, and it took the Hon Minister of Education to suspend the convocation. I guess his sack has to be with insubordination.
