What's up ladies and gents,


I noticed that there's been several threads on programming, data scientist, but none on computer networking. When I say networking,I mean network engineers,certified ethical hackers,network administrator, cyber security and rest.

Well for me,I've started my path in the network engineering field. Actually I started learning python,went into data scraping, and now into network engineering.I'm self learning, I plan on writing ccna exams when I'm done training myself. Then maybe move on to ethical hacking(ceh) or ccnp,but I'm not sure yet which path to take . Actually one of the main reasons I learned python was because I knew network automation requires a programming language,mostly python.

So if you're in the same field or something related as I am planning to be in,please gather here and share your experience, frustrations and advice. Are there jobs out there for us? Is it worth it?Best route to take?Salary scale ...

I didn't plan to go into networking before tho...studied mechanical engineering in the university but I feel myself slowly leaving the mech field.

So guys...let's hear it

You need to start from the scratch, i mean the basis.... due to fundamental context of network design
Start with Network and Hardware Essentials, both in theory and practical, that will inculcate the needed competence to write and pass CompTIA (A+) and (N+) or alternatively CCHA and CCNA

Be an ethical hacker.Yesterday I completed cracking an encryption payload of AES a 16 byte padding encoded in base 64 it took close to four hours I captured and broke the cipher text via guessing padding Oracle attack...It quite interesting

I asked him what software application we would be using, he said none. This is the reason I am writing this post. Please in learning networking, don't I need any software application such as Cisco Tracer packet, GNS-3, Eve-ng?

According to him, we would be doing more of networking practicals in the course of the networking training. So why do I see members in some groups posting projects done on software applications? Don't I need knowledge of the software applications too?

Please to those of you who have knowledge of these trainings, for my self-practice in preparation for the certification exams, don't I need to know the softwares application aspects too?

For Self Practice, it would be best for you to build your own network lab if you a financial buoyant, otherwise use software applications..
Using real life scenario gives you wider knowledge of networking. .
Crimping is a typical example, you can only learn how to crimp using real life scenario, you can't learn it with software applications.
