My Experience Living In Ghana. by Greenbirth: 8:46pm On Aug 18, 2020
My story living in Ghana. It was 2016 after I completed school that I decided to travel Abroad specifically South Korea. But I was scammed by one foolish guy called Okechukwu steve david nwaofufe from Awgu in Enugu state. That one is story for another day.

But as things didn't turn out good for me. I decided to travel to Ghana. When I got to accra ghana. I booked a hotel for 2 days with hope to finding a room to rent within a short period of time. First day past I could not find a room but on the second day an agent showed me a room at the city center. So I followed the agent to see the said house but when we got there the land lady asked me where am from and I said Nigeria. I have not even finished mentioning Nigeria and the woman started shouting No No No.. I don't need Nigerians.i Was shocked to my bones.

I pleaded with the land lady to just help me as a young guy that I am a good nigerian. After much pleading to the extent of kneeling down she accepted with condition that I pay only 3 months. That is how I got a house. First month I started engaging in street hustle just within the area I lived but I was highly monitored by the land lady for any mistakes but I was cool and carefull. At the end I turned out to be the best tenant in that house. In fact my rent was later reduced less than even the Ghanaian tenants.

Now back to Street. Every Ghanaians hate and fear nigerian even when you have not done any wrong. They hate competition. Very jealous to the bone marrow. In fact they are the most Ungreatfull people I have seen in the face of the earth. I was called all sort of names. Criminals. Killers and so on but I didn't show any resilience. I kept up my game to the core.

Now let me say this nigerians Invested heavily in ghana. Ghanaian don't allow any nigerian to work in their company and even if you manage got one, you will be black mailed and removed. Most of the news you hear about nigeria do this and that are all arranges.
I am not saying that Nigerians don't commit. They do.

In their higher institutions, nigerians are plenty schooling and you must pay your fees in dollars. They don't care.

My purpose of writing this article is about what is happening now. This things Ghanaians are doing to nigerians started long time ago but is just getting serious now. We should try as much as possible to avoid investing heavily in all these small African countries. Because you can loose it at any time. In fact apart from ghana I have traveled. I have vowed not to travel to any other African countries for anything business.

In conclusion ever since I was born I have never seen before where an individual move a bulldozer to demolish another Country's embassy axcept in Ghana. I think the nigerian citizens and Government should sit up especially when you are outside nigeria. Try behave well and leave the rest to God.

Mod. Lala and Co. Please help push it.

I have to agree that most Ghanaians don't like Nigerians. Did you also noticed most Nigerians don't maintain low profile lives in Ghana and tend to mock their hosts humble lifestyles?

Nigerians have been residing and trading in Ghana for over a century without crisis. These new generation of show offs are something else.

Our people should make silent money wherever they find themselves and can get to be loud about their wealth any time they are back home in Nigeria.

I hate that sound of "everyone is jealous of Nigerians".

What exactly is there to be jealous of, is it the fact that our country isn't good enough to accommodate us, or because our politicians have turned the country to the world's unenviable capital on all indices measurable?

Is it the fact that all our youths would rather flee the country cowardly to go find succor in another man's land by choking and over-running the citizens of that country who had stayed in their own land to make it better with our loudness and looking down on mellowed people who are mostly contented with the little they have or come across and term them as lazy, envious, or un-smart because we believe our ability to be materialistic with zero moral values and get-rich-quick at all cost as being smart?

Look, there is something inherently wrong with us as a people. These same things that are wrong with us to the outsiders are also very evident within us in our country, and right here on this platform with the unending chest beatings and tribal supremacy battles.

We are everything wrong in everywhere we find ourselves. You can't go to someone's house where they still live in their innocence and trusting which you erroneously term as muguism to begin to corrupt and destroy this very fabric that has held them together for ages and tell me you are a sharp man or hustler.

Sit the Bleep down in your country, demand answers from your government, take control of your land and better it, then show your smartness by transforming the lapses in your economy to the envy of the one's you always boast about being better than.

Nonsense and ingrejent.

Just imagine you op, you went to Ghana, rented a house, then " entered street" to begin hustle. What hustle if I may ask, and you expect the owners of the country to be happy with criminals destroying their country and corrupting her citizens?

All these una nonsense talks of we are better than the SAs, Ghanaians, and every one else and they are attacking us out of envy or because they aree lazy is utter and arrant nonsense.

Make una rise up to repair una country and quit with the ridiculous over-estimation of self-worth.

We need to learn to tell ourselves the truth if we are to save ourselves all these nonsense embarrassments.

Let's tell ourselves the bitter truths, change our value systems, and earn the respect we crave.

You don't demand respect, you earn it.

You’re talking out of point. Which New generation and show off are you talking about?

It’s simple, Ghanaians are not very good hustlers like Nigerians, our success in Ghana intimidates them, makes them feel threatened. We have their womens, we live in expensive houses (some ghanaian landlords will tell you they rent to only nigerians who will pay them well), we dominate the clubs, the markets and including nigerian owned churches.

I’m in ghana and that’s the truth about the matter.

Where were you, because i lived in Ghana, when silent hustlers, that later became governors, senators etc were bringing "sacks" of letters to Ghana,to be posted all over world

It is hustlers that show off, without visible means of livelihood that is drawing negative vibes to Nigerian traders and genuine business people.

Mr artiiclebeast, I can see that you love to write.

I live and work in Ghana with my resident permit. In fact, I am a representative of a Nigerian owned company in Ghana.

The level of hatred towards Nigerians in this country is unparalleled. Everybody is not lousy. You will never know that I hold an important position in the country except I tell you. In Ghana, as a Nigerian, you are first presumed to be a criminal until proven otherwise.

These wicked people are undermining the large positive contributions of Nigerians to their economy. Banking, trading, education, tourism etc. They are using a coordinated media to attack Nigeria and Nigerians as if nothing good comes from us. While I am not defending any criminal, there is no crime committed by some Nigerians that are not also committed by the Ghanaians. They like to project this sainthood but they also have very corrupt officials, police, immigration etc.

Personally, I am never going to invest my money on immovable assets in this country and I don't see a future in it as a Nigerian. I have refused to operate a local bank account since I got here and noticed this disdain. I have also asked my family to stay back in Nigeria.

Experience is the best teacher. My grandparents and my father as well as other Nigerians were chased out of their country in the 60s causing many people to abandoned their properties and livelihood before Nigeria retaliated in the 80s.

I can tell you that they would have done the same if it was military regime but what they are doing now is institutional obliteration. Nobody will tell you to live when you feel the pressure. Asking foreigners to bring in $1 million as equity to operate in their country. How many Ghanaians have such money? Ghanaians who are hustling in different countries in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Europe, Nigeria and other parts of the world, which of the countries asked their citizens to bring 1 million dollars?

Nigeria as a country needs to sit up and restore the pride of the country. Every family, community, tribes have critical role for cultural regeneration. Everybody in Nigeria are driven by the to make by all means.

Governance in Nigeria has collapsed and we must admit it. A situation whereby a citizen has to provide everything to live a comfortable life is the root cause of obsession to acquire wealth by all means. Electricity, road, light, security etc which one is working?

I am in a foreign country at this critical time where everywhere is locked down but CBN stopped withdrawal from ATM and online payments with our cards. What kind of wickedness is this.

The bitter truth is that Nigeria has lost it as a country and things will only get worse in the nearest future because nothing is being done now to put the country on the path of prosperity in the future. The country needs to seriously restructure or separate before we can make a way. The current constitution will continue to lead the country to doom.

Peace out.

Na God go bless the people wey born you and you too.

So, you sabi the sack of letter matter.

Make una continue dey hustle. Na una hustle pass for the world but una never ever fit hustle one good government put for una country na to dey run up and down like refugees in the hopes that una country go better overnight without una contribution.

Talking about hustling, envy, and jealousy by others. Isn't it exactly the same accusations by a certain group to a certain group and vice versa in the same Nigeria?

We need to tell ourselves the truth however bitter and get to the root of all these nonsense to even begin to know how to solve it.

Na we hustle pass for the world that's why the world dey envy and dey apprehensive about us. Meanwhile, our country dey in ruins.

Very laughable I swear.

I only feel sorry for the poster above me, his likes, and the genuine traders whom the loud-mouthed and show-off illiterate criminals has exposed to attacks by their hosts due to their deliberate tauntings and disrespect.

please is there a law that says you can't travel to other parts other earth?

Please let's get somethings right, people move that's life, but what's not fair is when been treated unfairly by a fellow being that has blood flowing in their veins.

All this talk about if Naija was better people won't move doesn't cut it, people have various reasons for moving, some people go out to establish businesses outside their home,e.g the Chinese have investments here same like other nationals, are their countries not good? Naah, but they're here for the opportunities they've observed, should we now treat them unfairly for them coming over? Not at all

See ehn some citizens in some countries have these in born bias for other people not of their nationality, unfortunately we've experienced that from some Ghanaians, I said some cos from personal experience the more accommodating Ghanaians are those who have traveled out of their country and experienced life with people of other nationalities, my own fact.

Anytime anyday I will root for my Liberian siblings, those guys are the coolest to be with, very accommodating people, no time for bias, fun people(ok too much fun people grin).

It's not a competition.

What do people think they're winning exactly?

Just do your thing, and appreciate what everyone brings to the table. Ghana offers Nigerians a great place to do business. Nigerians offer Ghanaians opportunities and game. What's the problem? There's no shortage of women, so no need to fight.

And most important

Good to know your business wasn't of criminality. But let me ask this, were u paying levy and tax on your business?

Were u paying duties on goods your brought in through the borders?

Did you know of existing local laws which frowned on your activities on the local market?

Are you a Ghanaian. If you are, go ahead and say it so that I will know how to talk to you.

In case you don't know. There is no goods that pass through ghana border that they don't collect taxes and Levis on it. In fact at ghana border is only a place where goods are removed and checked one by one and taxes are collected.

To be honest with you there is no any other country's business men and women that can endure what the Ghanaians do at their border apart from Nigerians.

And for your existing law. There is no African country that can tell another African country to bring one million dollars before you can do business in their country.

Her mood just changed....as if she has seen me bfor.....she became so so so harsh and hostile towards me...

Buh when it gets to their fellow Ghanaians, she was taking her time to explain things to them...

Even online, the hatred that Ghanaians show towards Nigerians on social media is horrifying!

Even on YouTube, whenever a negative news is reported about Nigerians by channels like BBC documentary, you see them making derogatory statements about Nigeria.

Please help push it.
what type of hustle are you into

It is a shame driving around Osu, and seeing troops of mostly Nigerian prostitutes standing on the street and running after any passing car that stops. Every time I pass through that roundabout, it just makes me feel so sad as a Nigerian.

I have been to Gambia, Ivory coast, and Senegal, and even in those far-flung places where they speak French, you see Nigerian prostitutes there.

I don't even want to go into Nigerian men. They are the worst.

I GENERATE MY LIGHT MY SELF WITH THE HELP OF SOLAR, FOR THE PAST YEARS, I DONT KNOW HOW THE POWER SUPPLY FROM THE GOVERNMENT LOOKS LIKE, I DUG MY OWN BORE HOLE, AT NIGHT WE FORM NEIGHBORHOOD SECURITY GUARD, WE WALK ROUND THE STREET OUR SELF TO GUARD OUR HOMES, SOME TIME WE HIRE INDIVIDUAL TO DO THIS FOR US.

WE PAY HIGH FEES FOR OUR CHILDREN TO GO TO SCHOOL, WE CONTRIBUTE TO BUILD OUR COMMUNITY ROAD, WE PAY HIGH AMOUNT TO FUEL OUR CARS, THE HOSPITALS CAN NOT BE ACCESS BY THE POOR, COMMON AUGMENTIN WHICH GOES FOR N7,000 BEFORE IS NOW OVER N29K. THE WORST IS THAT THIS IS THE WORST TIME FOR ANY POOR TO GET SICK IN NIGERIA.

WHAT ARE THE FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES OF THE GOVERNMENT TO IT'S CITIZENS?, THATS WHAT I WILL WANT TO KNOW?. OUR GOVERNMENT HAS FAILED US AND ARE STILL VERY PLEASED TO FAIL US.

WHY WILL ANY ONE BLAME ANY NIGERIAN FOR RUNNING OUT OF NIGERIA TO ANOTHER COUNTRY, DESPITE THE FACT THAT I HAVE WHAT I AM DOING IN NIGERIA CURRENTLY, MY BODY IS IN NIGERIA BUT MY SOUL IS OUTSIDE NIGERIA. THIS COUNTRY DON CAST LONG AGO, WORST CASE IS EVEN KNOW. COURSE BE ON TO ANY MAN WHO STAND AGAINST NIGERIAN TRAVELING TO FIND SUCCOR FROM OTHER NATIONS. IF I HADE KNOWN I WOULD HAVE EVEN PLANNED MY WAY OUT THIS THIS NATION THE YEAR THIS TOPIC WAS CREATED
