I had expected the govt will site this NPDC office in the SE.

Edo state cant manage this building well.

I urge the SE to protest and fight for the relocation to the SE

Edo state no get oil, yet they sited NPDC head quarters there. What happened to Rivers or Bayelsa. Bayelsa has history as the first oil producing state in Nigeria. Port Harcourt is Nigeria's oil capital. It's Unfair.
How is Port Harcourt the oil capital. Akwa Ibom producing far more crude oil than PH.

Except that Edo is the operational base of the NPDC and most of the fields (onshore)where they make their money from are in Edo. The most popular being Oredo.

If the federal government does not build such projects in the North, it will be in Lagos or any other place but it will never be SE.

Useless good-for-nothing country. There is no single federal government agency or parastatel built anywhere in the SE but bastards will still claim there is no state sanctioned subjugation of the SE. Nigeria is such an evil country where they don't like saying the truth.

It would have been better if this building was a teaching hospital or even a government University building
that building is at the tail end of Airport road in Benin. I did not even know its Npdc that owns it cos it looking like an abandoned project few years ago.

Then I thought it was even an hotel

Make them spread the development. I see no issue with it being in Edo or anywhere in the SS.
the mumu doesn’t know that edo state Aside the obvious fact that it wasn’t just called the heartbeat of the nation it also doubles as an oil producing state... lemme assume u didn’t want to talk about it with him because I don’t expect to see too many ignorant people or young lads who missed history lessons online thought they would all stick to pinging and snap chat not involving in what their half baked brains can’t phantom or discern..

Cry me a river.

What oil does south east have to warrant this type of building?

All part of the country is largely underdeveloped.

Stop with this senseless post.

Your emotional manipulation won't work.

You should probably channel your anger to your governors

Zombie that doesn't know that Abia or imo produces more oil than Edo state.

This is why Edo state has the lowest unemployment in the country.

Investments that should be going to Delta is going there, and they will fill the place with Edo people.

Delta should be getting anything oil and gas but militants and cultists no let us see road.

The only thing oil and gas about delta is extraction.

There are some government agencies in the southeast. For instance, NAFDAC has its headquarters in Abuja and two divisional quarters in Lagos an Anambra. PRODA has its head office in Enugu; Nigeria Root Crop Institute (NCRI) is headquartered in Umudike. Governmnet has some federal agencies located in the southeast.

The New Head Office of the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company located along the Airport/Ogba Road in the heart of Benin City.

The new NPDC head office building consists of a training centre that will accommodate 250 persons at peak periods.
It can also be used as an independent 60-seater training room with flexible folding partitions, ancillary spaces for storage and lounge activities.
It is a magnificent Tower made up of seven floors including the basement level, and a modern auditorium that can become a meeting place for the entire NNPC Management.

2. Drone shot of the Training centre

EDO STATE IS AN OIL PRODUCING STATE.

It deserves to host this facilities given it centralised location and its strategic role in the Niger delta region.

SPDC once had offices in Warri but the youths did not give the company peace to operate.

Edo state is one of the most peaceful environment for doing business and that accounts for the reason why NPDC still remain in Benin.

That is not the case with some of the states in the Niger delta region.

A careful study will reveal that most of the workforce in the NPDC benin office are mainly NORTHERNERS that were imposed by the northern political leadership in Abuja.

The fact that NPDC have offices in benin does not mean that the indigene are the onces getting the jobs.

Most of the jobs and contracts are controlled from Abuja.

In Delta state, you still find northerners dominating most of the jobs in WRPC, NNPC, Nigeria gas, Nigeria Ports Authority.

Location does not mean it is CARRY GO for the natives.

ABUJA still control the jobs and scheme it to the favour of non indigene mainly the HAUSAS.

I can see my house from there! grin
This project started under Jonathan govt. You should have seen the speed at which this building was being constructed! The foundation was a sight to behold, very solid, the floors were quickly rushed too. All of a sudden a snail driver took over and work became so slow (one year one block.)
I don't think they will commission this project even after Buhari's govt because they are very comfortable in the rented office along sapele road because they won't be free money to share from the yearly rent...

Same thing they said about coal. But till today, coal still yeilds billions for companies globally. They also said a new way of generating electric will replace hydro. But till today hydro electric generation remains the cheapest.

Let me tell u. In 200 years from now, crude oil will still be globally traded
