I am creating this thread so as to allay the perceived fears of electricals issues we have about the above brands. These are fantastic brands with easy to diagnose electrical architecture. If you are a fan of the brand and you are holding back to acquire one because of perceived electrical issues. Do not worry, there is a solution to any fault that may arise during your time of ownership. Existing owners of these brands, you are highly welcome to share the joy of driving these vehicles that i consider "alive", and electrical issues you have experienced, etc.

I will be discussing how to diagnose any electrical issue you may have. Feel free to drop any.

I will start by stating how the screen wiper works on the brand and the procedure to diagnose a faulty wiper.

Wiper Activation

If you request a wiper operation through the lever on the steering wheel, an electrical message is sent to a steering wheel column control unit. The steering wheel control unit sends the message through convenience CAN to vehicle electrical system control unit. The vehicle electrical system unit sends a message to the wiper motor unit through LIN. The wiper unit then comes on with the desired speed.

To Diagnose

You have to follow the route of the communication so as to be able to diagnose this. A knowledge of CAN and LIN together with capable diagnostic equipment are needed for proper diagnosis. The knowledge and needed tools are available

It is easier to find electrical faults on these brands because of availability of pid for every sensor and actuator. Diagnosis can be concluded on these cars from the driver's seat without opening the bonnet with a capable scan tool and knowledge of theory of operation.

Please if you own these vehicles, try and use the recommended oil by the manufacturer for servicing at the right time.

The manufacturers oil recommendation goes beyond viscocity grade. Try and read some lines after the viscocity ratings.
