I remember how lively Nairaland was when i joined the forum 2011, we normally come here to relax and have fun with ourselves with cool and meaningful stories
We have great people who always creat cool threads, How can i forget the popular self acclaimed virgin here... One and only Onila with her threads that shows the beauty of African ladies
also people like "Seyibrown, blueeyes1, coolval222, pdude and other great writers

I think Seun loss focus when the forum got to it peak and some cash start coming in

He allowed tribalism to steal away the fun in Nairaland

Then you hardly see meaningless thread on front-page

Seun need to sit down and reorganize the forum

Seun, I have opinions to air out.

1. It's good you don't allow users change their display names as it makes the users unique, give room for that but allow everyone here to see everyone's name history and let such change happen once a year.

2. Give room for "delete" but not comment that has been quoted and no delete on thread created.

3. Have you seen that "I believe there's no God apart from Mohammed" balderdash? Take it down, if you don't intend doing so, edit that rubbish of an English.

4. Look for Nwamaikpe and bring him back here. Lol

Some of them commenting on there are still nairalanders and very active members.....

The call to upgrade this forum is indeed a great intention and should be done in a way that it will broaden and have ways to bring a new experience into the forum....

I'll like it, if Seun will look into this call very much or conduct a survey and have people tune into and contribute on what they'd like to see as a new nairaland....
Gimba Kakanda is this you?

There is nothing wrong with Nairaland...leave us alone

I love Nairaland exactly the way it is, the anonymousity is what makes it interesting......i think what seun should do is to create a "Nairaland app" just like facebook lite and put it on playstore, this app should have the following features,

-Ability to access your Nairaland account .

-Video playing capability.

-Colorful features Etc.

I agree with you , Especially in bringin back Nwamaikpe, That person (Whoever he is) really made Nairaland interesting with his comments, Seun should even put him on Salary and he should please ban "" forever ...... Seun i just hope You grant my request.

What if Seun drops dead today (God forbids though) what happens? Will Nairaland automatically die with him? Is there a succession/continuity arrangement?

Considering how important this forum is for many of us, this is a valid thing to ponder about.

Nairaland is the biggest online forum in Nigeria with Million active members both at home and abroad.

Sadly it is the biggest platform where tribalism thrives.

I think Seun can do more to improve this forum which is the best, most popular and most active forum in Nigeria or even Africa.
It has a unique name that symbolizes Nigeria "Nairaland" what a beautiful name.

I think the owner is operating under the fact that you don't fix that which isn't broken, and I agree.

People love familiar spaces.

But I think Nairaland should be upgraded to allow us use various emojis and emoticons from our Android and iPhones.

That's the only change I'd like to see.

Then of course stricter regulation concerning ethno-religious bigotry as well as trolls and unnecessary cancelers.

Then maybe include the ability to be able to upload short videos without links.

Apart from all that, I think Nairaland is fine just the way it is and Mr. Seun has done well.
Also Block people from Quoting you and you seeing their Posts. Maybe Remove the like button ¯\_༼ •́ ͜ʖ •̀ ༽_/¯
And my own personal preference, Using the reddit tree System so that Comments are more Arranged, Organized and Orderly, but that's just my personal preference tho, not a must.

regarding the tribalism
seun should learn how to reshuffle his mods because some mods here are too bias and tribalists
again in politics section where this tribalism thrives he should employ a non partisan mod to oversee it because the current one we have is full of bias and partisan.

he should put the mods on tenure mode like yearly or 2 years.
that's it.

nothing should be added to this forum
it's simplicity makes it the best.
that's the features of a good website (a super friendly UI).

I've been on this platform for years now, though not with this moniker.

I came here for more knowledge and I'm still gaining other things aside. This platform has helped shaped my life and increased the positivity about me.

I think I'm even addicted to nairaland as I'm more active on this platform than other social platforms.

You'll enjoy nairaland if you came to learn.

If something works, it works.

If it makes money, even if old then it works.

Many attempts have been made to compete with nairaland with their new designs all of them failed .

What is funny that people that can not afford to buy data are the one complaining about redesigning nairaland.

Most people dont understand, the more heavy design, the more data you consume.

Let those i too know on Twitter continue ranting.

Nairaland is simple and mobile friendly for every damn phone.

It is the common man source of news and entertainment, a common man source for sense of community.

All of you should leave Seun alone.

If you don't like NL the way it is, carry laptop and make your own.

Gimba should first rescue his destiny from the hypocrisy of supporting Buhari and realizing his ineptitude.

Imagine if Seun listens to an Idiot like Gimba, NL come go flop.

Shey una go refund Seun money?
You are absolutely correct my brother!

The same way Facebook failed woefully when Mark Zukabagg transformed it from mere college social media app and upgraded it to global brand.

At least 'a bird in hand worth so much than the one in the bush'

Thank God Seun didn't listen to people that adviced him to rebrand Nairaland.

Tribal hate in politics section and cyberbullying in romance section are the major problems in this great forum.

They thrive because no one has been punished for them but very soon, a scapegoat will emerge and the word "sorry" will be too late. smiley

@bolded;

The point above is the only reason why Netflix, TikTok, YouTube etc folded up suddenly. Data is so outrageously expensive and people can't afford it.

It will be a serious mistake if Nairaland goes the way of Netflix, YouTube, FB, Twitter, TikTok etc.
