I don't know if Dele Momodu wrote this, but if he did then I think he's I'll informed. Below is what the CAMA act which CAN and PFA oppose says :

Section 839 (1) provides that, “The Commission may by order suspend the trustees of an association and appoint an interim manager or managers to manage the affairs of an association where it reasonably believes that:

(a) there is or has been any misconduct or mismanagement in the administration of the association;

(b) it is necessary and desirable for the purpose of:
(i) protecting the purpose of the association
(ii) securing a proper application for the property of the association towards achieving the objects of the association, the purposes of the association of that property or of the property coming to the association
(iii) public interest; or
(c) the affairs of the association are being run fraudulently.”


Section 839 (2) further provides that, “The trustees shall be suspended by an order of the Court upon the petition of the Commission or members consisting one-fifth of the association and the petitioners shall present all reasonable evidence or such evidence as requested by the court in respect of the petition.”

Subsection three provides that, “Upon the hearing of the petition and the appointment of the interim manager, the court, with the assistance of the Commission, may make provision with respect to the functions to be performed by the interim manager or managers appointed by the order…[/b]

The question you should be asking are as follows:

1. Why should a Church leader be protesting a provision of the law that requires it's trustees to be accountable? Don't forget most pastors preach that we will all account for all deeds here on earth when we meet our maker?

2. Why should church leaders frown at a provision of the law that allows for interim managers to investigate any act of fraud or misconduct reported by church members or discovered by corporate affairs commission which they registered with in the first place before government granted them approval?

3. Where in the law did CAMA forbid any pastor from buying private jets, continue to provide scholarship for indigent members, provide employment for its members and members of the public at large?

4. Should church trustees be allowed to continue to run it the way they please even when the members (one fifth of them actually) strongly belive and have evidence the trustees have wrongly used the assets they hold in trust for the members?

Mind u, CAMA doesn't even get to do the suspension by themselves at their own discretion ó, they still have to get court order to do that.
