I've maintained quite a number of them. Parts are surprisingly cheaper than Camry of same year, it's way more sophisticated and even better designed inside out than the Camry. It's a big improvement over the 08-12 accord. The 4 cylinders are mated to CVT or manuals, the V6 are mated to traditional autos. It's a good car but should you get it, be careful to ensure you stick to recommended fluids.

It was expensive right but it definitely wasn't hard to find! And before you say, I got the Acura too, just decided to buy the Honda cuz it was brand new from Belgium

There is no way an Acura TL will share the same shocks with a Civic.

Shocks are designed to carry a certain weight and to handle a certain way. Those two cars are very far apart that they cant share the same shocks.

The physical dimensions and appearance of the rear shocks could be same but not the same spring or inner working parts.

Besides, Honda Civic front suspension is usually the MacPherson suspension system while Acura TL is the usual Double wishbone. Those two will be completely different and cannot be interchanged.

Yes, I agree they share some parts. Where I absolutely disagree with him is saying they share most parts. That is false. There are major and several parts in those Acuras(TLs especially) that is not shared with any Honda

Take for instance, the 2004-2006 acura tl has its own radiator and is not shared with any other Honda or Acura.

I don't even think the transmission is the same with that gens accord though I know the AV6 transmission fits into the tl.

The engine in the 2004-2008 acura tl was not shared with any Honda

Steering rack, steering knuckle, tie rods, control arms(upper and lower) are exclusive to the tl and not shared with any Honda

The CV axles in the 2007-2008 Acura tl are not used by any Honda.

There are a lot more I can list.

Not true at all. Especially the TL which is what we're talking about. TL may be based on the Accord but parts can be very different. The engine on the 3.5L TL and V6 Accord aren't even the same thing.

What about 09 TSX? What honda parts can be interchanged with it? Pls enlighten more on it

The TSX is badged as the Euro Honda Accord. There are a few differences but I expect most of the underpinnings to be the same.

This is the best response you can get here. I use a honda accord 2016, with proper maintenance culture and using the recommended fluids you should have no issue, the parts are readily available. If you are in lagos you can get almost any honda parts at Oyingbo or if you have so much money use The Honda Place.

Acura Tl has expensive parts and it's not very friendly with lagos roads. A broken bumper or headlight will take some money from your account depends on how buoyant you are

Thank you! Personally I have 3 numbers of people on my phone, they only specialize in Acura parts! If I don't want what I'm looking for from Mr A, I will definitely find from Mr B.

In the last 6 months of driving this 2012 TL. I have changed my shock absorber, and I have changes a few other things that are only used by Acura, I didn't have to sweat to get them.

Please I need the numbers for the acura spare parts dealers if they are based in lagos.I am looking to get good shocks.

I am planning to get same Honda Accord 2013 model infact I missed a good deal just last week but I believe I will get another deal.

Guru in the house should please explain the cause of this steering to other side.

I stand to be corrected, I think the Honda Accord 2013 beats the Camry hands down interms of Pricing, Drivability and handing, efficency and power, cost of parts, beautiful interior...

The Camry 2012 is behind the Accord 2013.
