On Facebook an indigene of eastern Obolo local government area in Akwa ibom state, Sam Dede krt writes

This is the current state of Okoroete-Elile-Amadaka-Kampa road, Eastern Obolo LGA.

This road project is contracted to NigerPet Structures by Akwa Ibom state government but construction work was paused due to Covid 19.

We are aware of the recent reshuffling in the state Executive Council and we are pleading with Akwa Ibom state Government through the Ministry of Works under the Digital, Able, and Dynamic, Prof. Eno Ibanga, to remobilise NigerPet Structures so they can resume work on Okoroete-Elile-Amadaka-Kampa road before it gets out of hand.

The people are really suffering.

I KNOW EVEN SOME PEOPLE FROM THESE COMMUNITIES WILL REFUSE TO SHARE THIS POST.

It is unfortunate despite being responsible for over 40% of the oil Wells in Akwa ibom state, communities in Eastern Obolo are yet to benefit, from the government of his Excellency Udom Emmanuel, one would begin to wonder if it's because they are a minority in the state or her elites or is the state government not aware of the state of underdevelopment?

All we see everyday are strides of the state government on media but the goose that lays the golden egg is neglected.

Lol na airline to ferry the rich class among other tribes he is concerned about. Neglecting his very own citizens. Go itu road see wetting be bad road. Insecurity and gang robberies in itu road, ikpa road, ikot ekpene road and aka road nko Jesus! Misplaced priorities

Eastern obolo should complain about neglect but should stop lying, which company dey deir the produced 40% of what? Eastern obolo get only one shell subsidiary..

My brother you don't know what you are talking about, most of those companies you see ibeno as host are off the coast of both ibeno and eastern Obolo, sadly the neglect on eastern Obolo did not begin today, do your research

The local government is rich in oil and gas deposits, with multinationals like Mobil Producing Nigeria, Total E&P Nigeria Limited and Amni International Petroleum Company Limited operating in the waters close by for decades.

There is a difference between a host community ( eastern Obolo, ibeno, mbo) and catchment areas ( Ikot Abasi, mkpat enin, onna, eket)
Sadly it's same political oppression that nade it seem eket is an oil producing community which is not, do your research

My brother am from Ibeno am I speak and understand obolo dialect so well..
My mum is from Ntafre thats a core obolo community in ibeno..
So I relate with Eastern obolo than other local government..
Almost 40% of Eastern obolo people lives in Ibeno
