lereinter:Your insincerity is quite glaring as well as your Stark display of ignorance. You're using words you don't even know the meaning. You surely sound like someone with personality disorder. I'm sorry for your current predicament that has made you bitter, sorry the troubles will pass away with time, no need to vent your frustration on innocent people that you have no business with. The state of your plight is pathetic. |

Amotolongbo:Do you know what you are writing? No wonder your type are pegged at a 6.5 in IELTS writing module. Do not mumble words that you are not sure of their meaning and usage. You are a small girl; humble yourself so that you can learn and grow. With this unteachable attitude, you can't learn. Always stick to what you know! It's a candid advice. Don't peddle lies over what you know nothing about. If you don't know a thing, ask! You still did not show me the grammatical error in the sentence: did you go to school? I have nothing against you, and I would love to see you excel in your chosen profession. But that will only happen at a cost; humility and the willingness to learn. 1 Like |

sweettease:On the partner issue, it's actually one of the most readily available options alongside Medical repping. I've lost count of the offers I got even before finishing NYSC (I had my professional license already) and even till now. It seems a number of rich businessmen are becoming aware of the benefits associated with private community establishments, more reason they're willing to delve into the area. 1 Like |

sweettease:Wow; Impressive, although the chance of actualising a similar feat is quite slim even among your fellow nurses. You are wrong with sounding so certain a similar feat can't be achieved with pharmacy anywhere; I agree it could be quite challenging for a clinical role; however, I have a number of senior colleagues who have gone through similar route for a research/academic role. So it's not so far-fetched as you think. 2 Likes |

JIREN01:For nurses it is available even without a BSc and just 1 to 2 years experience, paid employment from the start with full benefits and sponsorship. Imagine the education and experience required before you can even come close to having such in pharmacy research. 1 Like |

sweettease:The pay is based on negotiation so there's no fixed amount; however, it's generally in the range of 900-1.3M/year and above for the license and 150K and above for the salary based on my observation. Your question regarding the short-/long-term benefits is unclear; except for the fact you get paid, which is general for every discipline, I really don't see much benefits. 1 Like |

sweettease:You mean you didn't need to write any licensing exams before practicing over there? To answer your question, no significant education- or working experience is required. Just your bachelors degree and 1 or 2 publications in reputable journals will do. And most of them just found of a way of getting their undergraduate theses published in collaboration with their supervisors. The major (if not only) edge Nursing has over Pharmacy is the ease of conversion by the licensing body (before being eligible for practice) in a different country. Besides that, I really don't see much to it. 2 Likes |

You are very correct. I got into pharmaceutical research in Europe years ago without writing any licensing exams. I still visit Europe every now and then without any such licensing exams. I have worked and lived in Europe for years working in an area of pharmaceutical research without any such licensing exams. The problem we have in this thread is that people who have zero knowledge of the Pharmacy and Nursing professions and the ones trying to provide information about the two. It would really be good to stick to what people do know. JIREN01: |

I could have ignored him, but then that is how people like him start malicious public misinformation purely because of envy. To study pharmacy is not a joke in Nigeria; it is arguably one of the toughest courses you would every study. Any pharmacist will immediately agree with that assessment. And to practice in Nigeria too, you are literally on your own practicing against the background of so much quackery and unflattering economic conditions; yet some people like him believe that the barely decent life that Nigeria pharmacists try to eke for themselves must be because they are extorting their clients and because they are greedy or lustful. The profession is one of the most decent professions in Nigeria, and many will agree with that. And I think those who know the profession and/or are members of the profession should come out once in a while to set the records straight. JIREN01: 1 Like |

ILuvBreasts:Fun fact: midwives in Nigeria are permitted to open their own maternity homes, free lance Nurse anaesthetist with connections can make a couple hundred in a week. Nursing isn't just bedside also. It's good to know the opportunity abounds for pharmacists though. I really want opportunities like this in Nigeria, nursing or not. 1 Like |
