another one is if dem give you loan, they will charge over 20% interest but if u fix or invest money with them, they will give u less than 5% return.[/quote]

You never try FCMB on loan. Those people get mind to charge 38% p.a excluding VAT, Insurance, Legal fees, etc.

I don't know if the bank is owned by Shylock.

*Nigerian Banks have finished this Nation!*

They are silent killers and unarmed robbers.

If you're in doubt, below are series of charges always placed on innocent customers in a single banking transaction.

1 VAT.
2. Account maintenance charges
3. SMS alert charges
4. Transfer charges
5. Postal STAMP DUTY charges
6. Weekend charges.

Now, the Apex bank, the unarmed robbers' boss introduced a CASHLESS ECONOMY whereby everyone does not need to carry cash for any transaction.

The problem is this: I am Cement Trader. The landing cost of a bag of cement is #2,550 while we sell #2,600. That is a profit of just #50 per bag of cement.

Now on every 2 bags of cement, a customer transfers #5,200 into my account due to CASHLESS policy and my profit is #100.

To my amazement, the bank deducted the following on that transaction!

1. #53 transfer charges.
2. #100 Postal STAMP duty.
3. #6.98 VAT.
4. #76 SMS alerts charges.
5. #93.13 account maintenance charges.

If that was not enough, on every single transaction, both account FROM which money is being transferred and the account TO which money is being transferred were charged for same transaction.

If you're in doubt, find out by requesting for your account statement.

Don't forget the bank had already laid off and reduced number of staff due to self service banking system o because more customers don't have to visit banking hall for transaction again.

So. Amount being paid on salaries and allowances of staff has dropped.
Did the CBN Governor or FED government know what they are doing at all.?

Or it was a deliberate act of exploiting the poor citizens?
So, we are now being tricked, enslaved by Government and the Bank?

This government will still come and collect income tax, trade permit at both state and federal level.

Who do we offend in Nigeria for us to have such extremely bad leaders, worst agencies and bad Nation like this?

No wonder businesses are folding up and liquidated on daily basis!?!

No wonder people now bury cash in cemeteries and farms?
Our Senators and House of Rep members who are supposed to be vanguard of the common people are not but a curse as well.

Who will put an end to all this injustice?

While I run around in the rain and sun for business to survive, the bank management just sit back in air conditioning and relax to feed on our sweat.
Very soon, they will complain of shortage of cash in circulation because people will find alternative savings and security for the cash.

*Please, kindly help repost until it gets to the appropriate authorities to end the Nigerian Bank madness.*

Nigerias lawyers do something about this above-mentioned

you are very right here.

I honestly do in lots of ways. It's never the fault of the government but that of nigerians who are never bold enough to stand up for their rights. Beautifully stated!

Who are you hiding or trying to save?
Please mention the bank and let others recommend a better bank for you.

Some banks like Access, GTBank and UBA are not for daily transactions. GTBank charges me up to 400 Naira monthly on SMS I don't need.

I'll turn it off via my online dashboard, and it miraculously turns on after few hours.

You are right my UBA account got charged up to 1000 naira a month and when those funds are removed I don’t get any form of notifications at all isn’t that extortion? You deduct peoples money without their consent and still won’t alert them about the deductions

Op, what are you talking about, the charges you listed are not true as regards to the transaction claimed.
On the ₦5200 deposit (assuming it's a current account)
1. #53 transfer charges. (No transfer charge for you the receiver)

2. #100 Postal STAMP duty. (It's ₦50 for ₦10000 above, so this is false)

3. #6.98 VAT. (You are not the sender so no vat for you, also vat for that sum is 7.5% of about ₦20)

4. #76 SMS alerts charges. (Sms alert is ₦4)

5. #93.13 account maintenance charges. (₦1 on every₦1000 received)
So op, why are you lying?
Also, why is the bank nameless?

Show me otherwise not just typing and then saying it all lies, show me where those charged is written in bank website to corroborate your comment...

The beneficiary should received ₦39950
While you the sender should be charged ₦52:50k
If there is any discrepancies, mail your bank or engage them online.
I sometimes do my statement analysis myself without even waiting for it from the bank.
I don't use sms, and my account is non interest yielding, although savings account, so it's easy for me to do my month statement

So who’s fault is it for been overcharged the Bank or we the Customers ?

Yes, like GTbank charging me N300 monthly plus some hidden fees without sending me alerts. And the N300, when I log into myninternet banking, it says it's for sms. That's broad daylight robbery. It's a savings account and not much transactions happen on it. This simply means they charge arbitrary fees or they charge for even their adverts sent through sms.

To make it worse they never send alerts for these deductions. They are a theiving bank. Simple!

Their live chat feature is no more working for me so I have to call them. No need. I'll simply move my money to banks I can trust.

all these banks can frustrate someone, that’s how i opened a zenith bank account last year january for private savings and before i could even save a dime in the account by month end i received a debit alert for card mentainance, giving me a negative balance even without any transaction yet and it keeps accumulating even when i decided i won’t use the account anymore.

another one is when you have 100k in your account, they will just wait until the day u want to use the exact 100k before u realize that 100 naira has been deducted for stamp duty charge or some stupid charges...this one even weak me yesterday cos e just scatter my balance

another one is if dem give you loan, they will charge over 20% interest but if u fix or invest money with them, they will give u less than 5% return.

the funny thing is that the govt has made this banks almost unavoidable for citizens with their policies.

Chai Bros I swear we’re in the same shoes cry cry
Sometimes when I go to the atm people will just be looking at you as if you don’t have money in your account when the amount you left in your account is been deducted without you been informed, you will be pressing your known balance and the bank will be telling you insufficient funds not knowing this stupid banks have already shortchanged you without your knowledge... so pathetic
