Is this an ife sculpture or an owo sculpture

If its an ife sculpture why is it totally different from a 1300ad sculpture

And why is the sculpture in an eastern king regalia and not an 12 ad sculpture regalia

This c. 1300 A.D. ‘bronze’ figure was excavated from the palace of Benin Kingdom, and it represents none other than the then Ooni of Ife as scholars have found.

Art historians have observed the regalia and have found it to be the same regalia of the other ‘bronze’ sculptures of Ife kings recovered from Ife itself.

The following is a comparison criteria based on a detail-by-detail analysis of the royal regalia:

(1) The textile covering the lower body.

(2) The two longer and bigger beaded necklaces running from close to the shoulder down towards the knees.

(3) The two or three stack of annulus-shaped neck pieces sitting quite atop the collarbone.

(4) The one piece of necklace (made of small spherical beads) sitting quite atop the annulus-shaped pieces.

(5) The many intricately designed pieces of beaded necklaces covering the upper body — including the chest and the abdomen.

(6) And the most unique and important, the two beaded pieces of regalia sitting right on the chest.

Figure (a)i & ii shows the image itself — that is, the 1300 ‘bronze’ figure excavated from the palace of Benin kingdom.

(a)i Source: S. P. Blier, 2012, p.77.

Based on the above set-out comparison criteria, sane folks may now compare and contrast this ‘bronze’ figure excavated from the palace of Benin kingdom with the two ’bronze’ figures shown below which were excavated from Ife.

Figure (b) and (c) below are two different examples of ’bronze’ figures of Ife kings recovered from Ife itself.

cheesy

A detailed comparison of the regalia of figure (a) on one hand in relation to the regalia of figures (b) and (c) based on the clear and detailed comparison criteria set out from (1) to (6) reveals clearly that this ‘bronze’ figure recovered from the palace of Benin Kingdom is of none other than the then Ooni of Ife. grin

You may decide to reply this by yapping the distraction of different crowns as usual, while completely ignoring the unique regalia which is not found anywhere else but in Ife.

The ready-made refutation for such reply is that just as Benin kingdom does not have only one type of crowns for its kings; Ife also (as well as any kingdom for that matter) have different variety of crowns for its kings.

The embedded image below is an example of a crown from Ife which is likewise tall and likewise without the signature-round & vertical front piece.

In sum then, this find here is a hard evidence (i.e. from archaeology) which not only proves the early connection between Ife and Benin, but also specifically proves the suzerainty of the Ooni of Ife over Benin Kingdom.

The President’s portrait is kept in the office of the Governor, et al., but never the other way round. grin

Cheers!

In addition to the foregoing:

(1) No other sculpture anywhere else in the world shows this same regalia, except of course those of Ife kings — not even Owo which you often cling to irrationally. cheesy

And if you must be stupid as always to say otherwise, then make sure to provide your evidence of Owo artworks showing this regalia. grin

(2) This ‘bronze’ figure is dated to the c. early 1300 A.D. while Owo (which you often cling irrationally to) were still doing terra-cotta in the 1400s. grin — Yet ‘terra-cotta’ is a precursor to ‘bronze’. cheesy

In sum, the earliest date for Owo ‘bronzes’ (if they ever had any ‘bronze’ figures) must be in the 1500s at the earliest possible. grin

(3) Also, if you must lie illogically as always that the Binis may have destroyed Owo’s artworks; then be prepared to explain with what machines and chemicals they destroyed every single early ‘bronze‘ figures while the terra-cottas escaped such machinery/chemical destruction. grin

Did you know benin sculpture were also destroyed when the British invaded Benin, or you think all survived mugu

And i also made you know that those sculptures were sold to ife and owo didnt i, that's why the sculptures were not having anything unique to the people that had it

need pictures of the Maltese cross found on ife sculpture,

I need a dahomey website agreeing to ife as a supreme kingdom fron the east

You fool, ryder was not working with oba eweka11 statement although maybe he did he made use of old documents from benins to have know or determine the location of oghene

Eweka11 statements were said, for political and cultural gains from yorubas which Ryder and Thornton noted, ryder was fully aware of eweka11 statements so definitely he was not confused he consider it too, and it know that the benis were altering their history for reasons known to them

Even if ryder had the evidence on dahomey acknowledging ife as east that wont still chsnge anything because dahomey is not benin, the Portuguese never stood in dahomey when the benins gave them that information,

Anway still i want to see the evidence from dahomey acknowledging it, for my curiosity and for me to determine the degree of your lies and desperation because it wont still alter a thing from ryders work if found to be true

Finding wiskers on ife or owo artwork still wouldn't alter anything the only people in osun that has the cat whiskers are not from ife,
Nevertheless, owo cultures has nothing to do with whiskers in their culture but we have seen some owo Terre cotta sculpture with whiskers same could be said for ife..... This again boils to my fact that this various non cultural features to this sculptures was because the artsains who made and sold the sculptures to ife and owo were not msking them to Refrence the culture of both tribes but to his own taste olowo made it know that art merchants in the Olds sold this sculptures to them and it was not unique to their people unlike the benin, this same purchasing can be associated with ife because of lack of evidence of artesians at ife who made the artworks , and also lack of cultural identities of the sculpture from the ife people, willams also made it known in his article

Again i need to see pictures and articles supoirting ife sculptures dating from 1100 above
And further evidence that shows ife to be older than benin and owo because the last evidence i read was owo palace was the oldest palace amongst all other Yorubas palace

So bring evidence to all this to meI need pictures of the Maltese cross found on ife sculpture,

Tao11 before you start anything with that sculpture foundi at the oba palace

First you have to prove those sculpture were made by ife people or they were aswell bought by yoruba merchant like what was stated by olowo

I hate arguing in myth it get things so mixed up, i guess you know me already

So you have to tell me if those sculpture were made by ife people if indeed it was made by ife then it must have shared the ife peoples identity to which it was made

The olowo said his own artworks were purchased from art merchants so definitely that sculpture was not identifying with owo culture that does not also mean it could not have been taken from owo by benins

But before we began talking about the ownership of that 1400 sculpture

Lets first talk about the ownership or the origin of ife artworks
For me the ife sculpture has nothing unique to the ife people and so was it also purchased from art merchant, the owo terracotta sculpture which olowo admitted was bought by art merchants happen to also be very similar with ife artwork meaning it was from one source

So TAO11 what do you have to say
