#Breaking: Benue State Government has approved Monday, September 21, 2020 for resumption of all schools across the state.

Commissioner for Education, Professor Dennis Ityavyar who made the announcement today at Government House Makurdi while briefing journalists said both public and private primary, secondary and tertiary institutions are to abide by the directive.

More states are expected to give dates for full reopening of schools.

He is not gaining any revenue from schools, because it's called "free education", so schools can stay closed as long as possible. Being one of the first number of states to rush into locking down schools, even weeks before it recorded its index case. Now its behaving as though it is the epicenter of COVID-19 in Africa.
Besides, once they reopen, principals/ head teachers will begin to ask for chalk money without returning any revenue. "Free education" in South East is almost "worthless" education, and he and his Commissioner for Education don't have enough lever to change it. So, the pupils continue to suffer the consequences not knowing what's hitting them.

That notwithstanding, nothing for you until we finish Edo/Ondo elections. That's where the real show will exchange hands, if you get what I mean.
