Elsa Majimbo: 19-Year-Old Kenyan Comedian Bags Partnership Deal With Rihanna's Fashion Brand

Popular Kenyan comedian and social media sensation, Elsa Majimbo, has signed a new deal with Fenty Beauty.

Known for her satirical monologues, the 19 year old announced the partnership deal in a 47 seconds long campaign video posted on her Instagram page on Sunday, September 13, 2020.

She also took to her Twitter account to share picture of Fenty Beauty products she received from the brand saying “My 19 year old self literally got a chance to work with @FentyOfficial.”

“I’m so proud!!!! Thanking the Fenty fam they’ve been so amazing and Rihanna for this amazing brand!” she added.

The comedian whose video usually her feature her crunching potato crisps, leaning back to a pillow and using a tiny 1990s sunglasses as a prop in her bedroom. However, this time around, she is seen rocking different Fenty sunglasses.

Announcing her partnership deal in her usual crisp-crunching, straight-talking videos, Elsa joked about Rihanna being her best friend.

Fenty Beauty is owned by eight time Grammy Awards winner and French billionaire businessman and art collector, Bernard Arnault.

According to Forbes, in 2018, Fenty Beauty accumulated US $570 million in revenue after just 15 months of operation.

The entire operation is said to worth US$17 billion, of which 15% belongs to Rihanna.

Wearing pairs of the Fenty sunglasses given to her, Elsa said; “Fenty, Fenty. You see me in this and you wanna look me in the eye. It is the audacity for me.”

In another scene, she added “I wear Fenty. Me and Rihanna are practically childhood friends.” She continued “I am really not sure if I should wear green or black to the diamond boy.”

Referencing one of Rihanna's songs titled “What’s My Name?” released in 2010 featuring Canadian rapper, Drake, the young comedian said “Ooh na na, what's my name?” — “Money” she replied with a laughter.

“You call her Rihanna, I call her best friend,” she added in another scene while laughing with abandon.

Featured24 reports that the student of Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya became popular in May for monologues on social media platforms since the beginning of coronavirus pandemic which forced many countries around the world to enforce lockdown to curtail the spread of the deadly virus.

Her first viral video which she filmed while under lockdown was about how she would never give a car to her future child. “You have legs. Two in fact,” she said.

In one of her videos during the lockdown, she punningly talked about how she doesn't miss any one.

“And this one people telling me I missing you. Why, Why, Why, Why, Why ?. Do I pay your school fees?. Do I pay your rent?. Do I provide food for you?. Why are you missing me?” she asked with a laughter.
