Edo Elections: PDP Protests Siege On Governors By Security Agents by Insidenaija(op): 8:25pm On Sep 18, 2020

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), protests the clampdown on its governors by security agents in Benin City, Edo state capital, ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

The national leadership of the party, in a press conference addressed by the PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, alerted the nation and the international community of the security siege on PDP governors in their lodging in Benin City.

The party expressed shock that security agents were detailed to surround the lodging of our governors to harass and intimidate them, whereas APC governors, including the governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje, his Imo state counterpart, Hope Uzodimma as well Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, are left free in the comfort of the residence of the sacked national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole in GRA, Benin City.

The party consided the siege as provocative and completely unacceptable as there cannot be two sets of laws for the citizens of our nation. In as much as the APC governors given the liberty to stay in Benin City, ed or stampeded to leave the state.

At any rate, we are confident that our governors will not allow themselves to be stampeded.

PDP called on all stakeholders in the Edo governorship election, particularly the security agencies, to work towards a peaceful, credible, transparent, free and fair election on Saturday.

I don't understand why APC governors will be working free round Benin and the hotel lodged by PDP governors is under siege by security men.

Only God will help us in this country.

Using security against the citizens is not the best.

Only siege? Were they(Their ward, local government and state leaders) kidnapped and released evening of election by masked DSS?

Was Obaseki pointed gun in a campaign led by himself by DSS as they did to Aregbesola in 2014?

What evidence do you have they are walking free around? Or do you mean walking free inside the hotel? Are PDP Govs confined to their rooms?

Eyah!! Sorry o!. but the best way to tame a raving dog is to restrict it by caging na. I said Obaseki and Shaibu are not wise. The way they have been boasting to rig the election,retire Oshiomhole,bury Oshiomhole,finish Kabaka,destroy captain Hosa,disgrace Ganduje the dollar man,embarass Tinubu the godfather,cripple godfather,end Agbero.etc. Do you think Apc and all these category of People would keep quiet and fold their Hands and do nothing?. To the Apc the battle line has been drawn by Pdp and Obaseki And its a do or die battle that must be won at all cost. Especially by masrive rigging,wits and cheats. You will see!!!
