Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency [NDLEA], Anambra State Command, have arrested 14 suspected drug peddlers moving hard drugs to Yobe State.

The suspects who hid the drugs in-between goods loaded in a trailer which was heading to Yobe were intercepted by the NDLEA operatives at Amawbia Junction along the Enugu – Onitsha Expressway.

Commander of the agency in the state, Mr. Mohammed Idris, while briefing newsmen at the agency’s office in Awka, said that the illicit drugs weighing about 2,000 kilograms were intercepted following intelligence reports.

He listed marijuana, tramadol, diazepam, cocaine and others as some of the hard drugs recovered from the suspects by the law enforcement agents.

Idris said: “We are doing everything within our powers to make sure we rid the country and Anambra State of drug trafficking menace. We are working to stop the influx of illicit drugs into Anambra State.”

“We had a powerful intelligence that there was a vehicle loaded with some items. Inside the truck there was a concealment of drugs such as cannabis sativa.

“We intercepted the vehicle at Amawbia Junction, Awka and brought it to our office. The truck contained palm oil and other household items used to cover the drugs.”

The NDLEA commander, who revealed that the total kilogram of the drugs was 1,910.1010, said that the matter was still being investigated to ascertain the source of the hard drugs after which the suspects would be brought to book.

We need to declare state of emergency to this drug menace and confine these guys to their enclaves so that can elations exporting crime to other people’s land.

The Igbos occupy all the European and Asian prison by far large numbers than any ethic group in the whole of Africa.

Now go on Nairaland and do an opinion poll where people answer truthfully and ask them which “Nigerian tribe constitute the highest number of prisoners abroad”

If they don’t all mention Ibos, then kill dog for me, I will eat it!

Well I am not also living in Nigeria and I have travelled across different countries.

Yes you’re right, Nairaland is a very tribalistic forum but at the same time you can observe some trends on it because most of those news that reaches front page are sourced from the frontline media.

Go on Instagram now, there is a post today about two Igbo drug pushers caught in Vietnam or so with their wives. Read the comment section on that post and you will understand what I’m talking about.

When talking about drugs, walahi no other tribe in the whole of Africa can contest against the Igbos. That is their own Foreign direct investment.

If you like you can deny it but personally I know you will understand what I’m saying.

The issue i am having with you is that you are making a partial judgement. You are only looking at drugs but you fail to look at the damage that yorubas are causing online. Thanks to your people. PayPal is running partial services in Nigeria. Most online gigs website won't even allow the Name Nigeria to be on the drop down list. Who are the kingpins of internet fraud, scam datings, Money doubling etc. The hands of the Yoruba man is not clean either.

In terms of internet fraud, Yoruba and Igbos have the share and it would be hard to say its one tribe that’s the biggest coz they both have major stakes in it.

Infact internet dating is exclusive to the whole south. If you get to Ogun, Anambra, Edo, Rivers, and etc you will always see the impact of internet fraud in the youths and even if you go international both Igbos and Yorubas have their equal share.
