13 State In Nigeria To Be Taken Over By AMCON And DMO Debt Management Office. by Atouke(op):
13 state in Nigeria are insolvent. Their debt and recurrent expenditures outweighs their total earnings.

This states are the ones in the red.

AMCON AND DMO( debt management office).
Will take over this government ministry of finance and supervise those ministries till the debts are paid off by the respective states. Austerity measures will be placed on them just like EU did to the Greek and Italian government. Until their leaders learn to be frugal with state resources.

Austerity measures are attempts to significantly curtail government spending in an effort to control public-sector debt, particularly when a nation or state is in jeopardy of defaulting on its bonds and financial obligations

Uzor kalu finished Abia state. Took state funds to float Slok airline. Product of I'll gotten wealth went under as soon as he stepped down as governor and Abia state funds was no longer available to fund the airline.
Abia state is yet to recover from Uzor Kalu theft and loans, not to talk of Gov. Orjis own! SAD.

Ogun and Lagos states will become richer without Nigeria.Lagos is not the 5th economy in Africa for nothing. The sucking tongue of the FG will be off the port etc.Lagos could become the first economy in Africa.
Most bouyant economies are always indebted because lenders are wont to lend them money because they can easily pay.
Lagos state makes a revenue of more than 40 billion in a month and will easily payvits debt if they want to but most viable entities like Lagos and the USA know why they do not quickly pay off their debts.Nobody will lend money to Anambra and the other poor states because they are poor,in fact dead without Nigeria.

USA is the most indebted nation in the world because they are the richest and will easily pay off their debt.Lagos is the richest state in Nigeria and 5th economy in Africa and can easily pay off their debt.
Anambra and the other states in the east are dead without FG feeding bottle.Who would lend money to poverty stricken states?

The governor's and his government will continue but the state ministry of finance will be taken over by officials of DMO and AMCON Till their debt is paid off.
The governor's will submit appropriations from his state house of Assembly to the Austerity measures committee for approval. Before expenses are made. Only essential expense like salaries, pension etc will be approved. Money for bullion van owners will not be approved till debts are paid in full.

angry

Are you for real? You are actually defending senseless profligacy in governance because of tribal affliation. Smart people in the know sat down and painstakingly analysed why states are in deep shit and all you could do is defend embezzlement.

You are actually comparing USA with Lagos? Sometimes I wonder what is wrong with Nigerians. We all should be marching to government houses by now to get an explanation as to what the governors did with all the loans they procured on our behalf.

Serious stealing in the name of over head cost is going on and all you could do is to defend madness. Mtcheeeww

Lagos!
Lolz, are you shocked that Lagos is last on the table and first to be taken over AMCON despite having a disproportionate part of Nigeria's wealth domiciled there?! That's the effect of having a drug Lord who moves its revenue in bullion vans controlling its affairs.

Isn't Lagos supposed to be so rich to the point of lending money to other states yet they've embezzled everything until it went bankrupt. SMH!!

This news is like music to my ears, thank God that the only SE state in that blacklisted category is Abia that has been perennially mismanaged, AMCON should take over its management already alongside Lagos and the rest grin grin

Better.

These doll babies sitting in our government houses need serious financial baby sitting. They are a big problem to our economy. They see free money without knowing that every kobo spent well or embezzled will reflect on the economy of the states.
