Pls, I need to buy a good external hard drive of no less than 500 GB. Which brshould I go for that would guarantee safety of my very important Files over a long period?

I am Lagos and will be going to computer village, Ikej to fix a pc issue today.

Go for 2 or 3 Terabyte Seagate or Western Digital. You can get sellers even on nairaland

I bought Western Digital in 2012,I still have it now. It has never crashed before. External hard drives crash alot. The best brand is the one you can depend on that your data will be saved. I bought it in a shop in December 2012 ,500gb at N12k.
I have files on it I collected in 2013 during my NYSC. I have like 5 HDDs,and to me WD is the best.

Where to get one is my problem now

Western digital 1 or 2tb.
Got my 2tb at 15k on jumia black friday 3 years ago.
I use it every day, everything i do is run from that hard drive.
So yeah it's strong.
If you see a toshiba or seagte thats inside a PC for second hand you can manage
