The Managing director of MultiChoice Nigeria, parent production company of the Big Brother Naija franchise, John Ugbe, has revealed that the Big brother Lockdown season recorded the highest votes ever in the history of the show. . . He revealed this at a media briefing and presentation of prize money to Laycon, the season’s winner, today in Lagos. . . He said that the show recorded 900 million votes from the different voting platforms and cost of producing the show was N3.5bn. 1 Like

The big brands and upcoming brands have done their advertisements through the platform and reached out to millions of viewers and potential investors/customers accross Africa. Those who had contracts to handle various aspects of the show have made huge monies as well for themselves...aside the participants, those are the real winners from the reality TV show who have seized the opportunity it offers. I was dancing because I felt I voted for free. When I remembered tiered voting meant you needed a DStv subscription first of all, I nearly cried at my stupidity. It means I paid the same amount of money that SMS voters did. Any form of voting which required inputting your smart card number beforehand meant you paid money.
