Celebrating failure , tribalism, nepotism, and corruption . whoever thinks Nigeria's independence is worth celebrating is either wicked or highly stupid.

Awon aridin, what's the happiness about the independence, we are celebrating the opposite of happiness in Nigeria, no future for us in this great country ruled by great greedy leaders

Nigeria don cast... at 25 one can say it will get better; at 40, you're still hopeful; at 50 maybe we can get our act together.

But, if at 60, a country still doesn't have universal running water, good hospitals or roads, or stable power, what is that? With SARs, BH boys, kidnappers still terrorizing the people? Centennial anniversary is only 40 years away. I bet you we'll not have stable light then, based on present leaders, and what I'm seeing from the indomie generation.

Nothing happy about this day abeg...
sorry bro I feel your pain but I dont know if we in Gombe are just because almost all the problems you listed above are alien to us I mean we enjoy 23+hrs power supply, we have clean water, SARS in Our state dont harrass the innocent rather help stop criimes, we have good roads even in villages etc I think the only problem we have in our state is that of higher cost of living these days which we are hopeful sometging good will happen soon

Happy birthday, Nigeria! Happy independence! There's so much to say about how you have failed your children but that's a topic for another day. On this day, I wish you nothing but the best. I also pray you would get your priorities right like most of your mates and even your younger ones are doing. You're my motherland! My home! The place that is supposed to give me succour when I'm cast away by others. I beg you, as you turn a year older, may you be wise enough to make your land habitable for your children to live and prosper in. Happy birthday, Naija!

Happy Independence To my father Land Federal Republic Of Nigeria. It's ours, not for any immigrant or naturalized tribe. The country belongs to the indigenous people who have always been here, The northerners in the once rich but now deserted sahara region, The educated westerners, The Middle belt and ancient NOK culture of FCT, business goons of the east and then the Greatest Tropical Monsoon Forests of the Niger Delta rich in oil and Gas. Its a good thing not to be born in Somalia, Burundi, guinea something etc and all that, there's reason perhaps I'm strong enough to be born a Nigerian. Except I don't know when we set our priorities straight. 60 years of independence, I congratulate Nigeria and greet all of us for being so strong being Nigerians. The country is quite a great asset to the world, congratulations to Nigeria, all the great men born after the independence day including myself. We remain independent forever

If life is there, there is hope. I am happy that we have started realizing our mistakes sooner or later solution will come is question of time. We should not use all our time to complain We need to plan on what to do, when to do it and how to do it. Remember it is the only country we have as our country no other country can ever be like it. Happy independent day Nigerians.

OCT 1ST NIGERIA'S INDEPENDENCE {2020}

What do we claim to celebrate this day ?
Independence ?
Or diamond 60?
When we are known as a fool at 40,
A fool forever.
Too much shame to bear
With no one ready to take the blame
Would I say a great nation enslaved by the rulership of the unwise,
With the poor masses left to suffer and die
In the name of hunger and starvation
Because no adequate provision
Still the outcry of the people seems unheard and forsakened
Held in bonds and shackles,
Left to rot in unequal human rights
Where the truth is said In fear of oppression.
Battles fought in our long gone past
Swords drenched in blood
With a glistening utter of victory for freedom's sake,
So peace in abundant shall reign
But this deed, has it been forgotten yet so soon ?
Has division soared its way back to our humble abode?
What shall become of us this great nation in time to come?
Would I find a cause for cheer?
But how can I when there is none.
Toddlers we have become
Progress seems afar
Whereas Greed and bribery has been embraced
With everything crumbling,
Our walls of security falling; like the walls of jehrico
To serve our Fathers land which is now a basement of corruption and looting ?
Oh Nigeria!
Where at thou our soldiers?
Do they still fight with honour and pride?
Or pray so peace may abide?
Do they still suffer scars of wars and say with boldness "again we shall rise"?
Or just run for their lives ?
The labours of our hero's past shall not be In vain,
Oh my great nation I dost hope we've not strayed away ?
Else I rise in compassion of what our future fate may be.
Of what our Leader's of Tomorrow may say.
Let love find its way
But strife, despair , hate and pain opposes in it's mightiness.
Oh God of creation adhere to our humble plights and please show our leaders the light
Help our youths the truth to know
So we grow and glow in loyalty love and honesty.
To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign

There's no need pretending. Only the north should celebrate. They are the ones benefitting from this contraption. Nigeria as a country has nothing to celebrate. We should in fact be ashamed of this archaic backward country, meanwhile Buhari is not the only one to blame. Nigeria, as presently constituted and run, will never progress.

Nigeria can only get better, unless all our selfish leaders die.

When the northern man wants to rule a country of how many ethnic groups for decades.

Telll me, how can things get better?

The southerners claiming they own the oil

The eastern man decide's to allocate all the job opportunity to his fellow easterner.

Tell me, how does things get better?

For this country to get better, we really need to shape our way of thinking.

Young people have to be involved massively in governance.
