To make it official, please book a reservation, a travel company can do that for you for around 3-5k

Oga your friend cannot provide u with hospitalia except he or she is d owner of d house. In the house contract it is always stated that u cannot give out the room or bring in another person without the approval of the landlord. Na only the landlord fit give u hospitalita.

Someone got that same document from his cousin last year and used it as proof of accomodation.

Oga I am here and I know how the system works. Maybe the cousin told the landlord to help issue d document. Hospitalita is a document u get from their commune and they will ask for the owner of the house bfo they give it out.

Is it different from declaration of guarantee?
Which states that the (host) covers the person's feeding, lodging and medical assistance together with repatriation. A document given by the police of the commune to the host?

Try booking for a hotel reservation with a travel agency. It won't cost you much. This can suffice in the event your cousin is unable to provide you with an accomodation support document.

Alternatively, sites like zappyrent and a couple others provide dormetary or shared rooms that you can rent. Just require you to pay for one month.

You can also register on Erasmus, a students site where people advertise for room mates

I wanted to ask if it’s only his statement of account that I need to take or should there be any other supporting document. Thank you

The CAC document of his business, his ID that has his signature and any other important business related document. He should also write a sponsorship letter for you disclosing that he will take full responsibility of your studies.
