Coupe Z Proto outlines the following sports car Nissan: biturbo V6 and “mechanics” The Japanese brand has shown a new “two-door” car. This is still a concept, but the production model will not differ much from it. The sports car will most likely be put on the conveyor next year. The current Nissan 370Z has been in production for almost twelve years now, and it’s not surprising that demand has been steadily declining. For example, in its main market, the United States, the model acquired only 2,384 owners last year, which is 31% less than in 2018. But at the start of a career, the coupe sold in a circulation of 9-10 thousand copies. And yet Nissan is not going to abandon a relatively inexpensive sports car – the 370Z will have a successor. For the first time, the new “two-door” was lit up in May, then the brand published a video teaser with several upcoming premieres. Now the coupe has been presented online. True, this is not a production model yet, but a concept called the Z Proto, but the car that will be put on the conveyor will certainly retain the design of the precursor. By the way, according to unofficial data, the commercial version will be named 400Z. Designed by a Japanese team led by Nissan chief designer Alfonso Albaiza, the exterior is full of nods to the old Z-car. So, the silhouette and headlights of the new coupe are a nod to the very first Nissan 240Z (S30, aka Datsun, 1969-1978), and the stern with rectangular headlights is a “quote” from the Nissan 300ZX from the nineties. In this case, the optics, of course, are LED. The body kit – with carbon inserts, the car “stands” on 19-inch wheels. The prototype is 4382 mm long, 1850 mm wide, and 1310 mm high. The company did not disclose the size of the wheelbase. The current Nissan 370Z is 127 mm shorter (in the American specification), for the rest of the dimensions, the Z Proto is not far from the current coupe (width – 1845 mm, height – 1315 mm; distance between the axles – 2550 mm). Inside the concept is a virtual 12.3-inch “tidy”, additional scales are still on the top, on the front panel (again in the style of 240Z), and air vents are built into the doors. The seats are upholstered in leather and Alcantara, the coupe also received a multimedia system with a large screen, wireless charging for a smartphone and the usual mechanical “handbrake”. Not a parody, but a freak: the updated Mahindra Roxor is ready to return to the market The Indian company Mahindra & Mahindra, which was banned from selling cheap, Jeep-like Roxor SUVs in the United States, does not want to leave the American market and, in order to circumvent the ban, carried out a large-scale restyling of its car. The first photos of the 2021 Mahindra Roxor have appeared on the web. It was the “butting” between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Mahindra & Mahindra, when the International Trade Commission banned the sale of Mahindra Roxor in the United States, as it copies the design of the Jeep CJ (the predecessor of the modern Wrangler). Roxor is the American version of the Indian Thar SUV. The assembly of these cars from Indian vehicle kits was established in 2018 in Auburn Hills (Michigan), that is, right next to the FCA headquarters, which caused additional irritation of the Italian-American auto giant. The archaic design of Roxor and the absence of any security systems made it possible to certify it only as agricultural machinery that does not have access to public roads, but its brutal style and cheapness (before the ban, prices started at $ 16,599) made the Indian jeep very popular with American off-road enthusiasts – Mahindra sold about 10 thousand of its SUVs in the USA a year. The ban imposed by the International Trade Commission applies, among other things, to the restyled Roxor 2020 model year – at the beginning of this year, we recall, Mahindra tried to preemptively resolve the dispute over the Roxor design with little blood and made its ancestor in the style of the Toyota Land Cruiser J40. Now, the Indian SUV required more serious cosmetic procedures – their result can be estimated from the pictures published by Jalopnik magazine. As you can see, the front of the Mahindra Roxor now really looks a little like Jeep CJ and Toyota Land Cruiser J40. The bonnet no longer tapers from the windscreen frame to the leading edge, but has the same maximum width along its entire length. The outer hood hinges were replaced with inner ones (they were also called a sign of similarity to the Jeep). The headlights are set as wide as possible. The front fenders now have practically no side protrusions and curvatures in the front. As a result, Roxor got a rather ridiculous, cartoonish “face” expression. The 2021 Roxor SUV has not yet been featured on the US consumer site Mahindra, but instead the title page posted the following message: “Sometimes you have to look deep inside to see your true version of yourself. Ford will equip the F-150 electric pickup with a twin-engine unit with more than 455 hp The American manufacturer intends to send a version with a new “filling” to the series in mid-2022. Ford continues to prepare to enter the market for the new generation of F-series: sales of the F-150 pickup of the fourteenth generation will start in the USA this fall. Today this model is the most popular in the States: by the end of 2019, dealers sold 896,526 pickups, which is 1.4% less than a year earlier. True, this year the figure fell more noticeably: by 18% (in the first half of 2020, the model sold 367,387 units). The decline can be explained both by the fact that fans of the model are waiting for a new-generation pickup truck, and by the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic (because of it, the figures fell for many brands). Earlier it became known that the Ford F-150 will subsequently have a fully electric version. The company has now released a video clip of the version it dubbed the F-150 EV. The video was filmed during many hours of testing to which the “green” novelty was subjected. There are still almost no details about the “stuffing” of the electric modification of the pickup. The company noted that the truck’s powertrain will include two electric motors, and that the total system power will be higher than the output of any F-150 available today. Note that now the most powerful “engine” is under the hood of the 2020 F-150 Raptor: it is a 456-horsepower EcoBoost V6 with a volume of 3.5 liters (torque – 691 Nm). It turns out that the total output of the installation of the “green” F-150 will exceed 456 “horses”. In addition, Ford noted that the future electric novelty will have “the fastest acceleration” (though it is not entirely clear, the fastest in relation to which cars – in the F-series family or in the segment of “green” pickups), and he also has no difficulty in “towing heavy trailers”. The carrying capacity of the electric version of the F-150 will be increased due to the roomy “trunk” that will appear in front (in the place that is occupied by the internal combustion engine in the “regular” versions). Note, there is no official data on the engine range of the “fourteenth” Ford F-150, which will go on sale in the near future. It is expected that the novelty will receive a hybrid installation and will retain the existing line of engines, which includes a 3.3-liter V6, a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 turbo engine, a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8, and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel. Kia showed future novelties: seven models will join the lineup The Korean automaker plans to significantly expand the range of electric vehicles by 2027. Kia intends to “reclaim its place in the sun” in the global electric vehicle market. At the beginning of this year, Kia announced a development strategy called “Plan S”. It is designed for five years, until 2025. According to this plan, the brand will gradually electrify the lineup and abandon the use of internal combustion engines. In addition, there is a shift in focus on SUVs and an increase in their share in the model range. Another point of the strategy is to increase the rate of production of cars. Now in Kia showed a teaser of future “green” new products and published a clarification on the strategy. So, the production of seven cars, whose silhouettes are visible in the image, will start before 2027. According to the “7 cars” presented in the picture, there is almost no specifics from the company yet. It is only known that the firstborn of the new “socket” line of Kia will be a car developed under the CV project. The company promises to present it in 2021 as a global model targeting multiple regions. The novelty will be based on the E-GMP platform. It is expected that the range on one charge for this electric car will be about 500 km, and its appearance can be made in the style of the Kia Futuron concept, which was presented in November 2019. By the way, the E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) cart was jointly developed by Kia and Hyundai. The partner, in particular, intends to produce “green” cars of the new Ioniq family on this platform: first, in early 2021, the Ioniq 5 SUV will appear on the market (its forerunner was last year’s Hyundai 45 concept); in 2022, the Ioniq 6 will be on the conveyor ( based on Hyundai Prophecy); and a couple of years later, the production of full-size crossovers Ioniq 7 starts. Returning to the list of new Kia products: it will probably also include a production car based on the Imagine concept, which was called a kind of “fusion” of an SUV, a crossover and a sedan. Honda plans the closure of the British plant Swindon in 2021 The Brexit and the current situation in the United Kingdom are giving a lot to talk about. Recent times have not been exactly good, as the decline in demand for the five-door Honda Civic, which is manufactured there exclusively and exported to the rest of the world. Precisely the closing date of Swindon, the year 2021, has a lot to do with the production of the Honda Civic. For that date, the model will have completed its commercial cycle and its update will be made in other plants of the brand. The same will happen to the Civic sedan, which will no longer be made in Turkey after 2021.
