The question as easy as it seem s is fairly complicated.
In my area I live in almost all the streets and roads have street lights but 90 percent of them are not in good condition, even the traffic lights installed by the government are not destroyed. But the government isn't the one destroying them , it is done by me and you .
Recently there was a story about some boys who were caught pouring acid on a federal road so as to generate traffic and make money.
We as Nigerians fail to respect everything about the country, from flags to our currency.which is very unpatriotic.we lack interest in made in Nigeria products which are sometimes as good or even better than their foreign counterparts.we have this belief that once it is made in Nigeria it is bad, no wonder some of our boys create good products and end up adding made in China.
In my state ,the last governor built good roads and world class infrastructures but they are in sufferable state ,trees were planted everywhere but none of them are remaining.They were destroyed by the very same Nigerians that scream government doesn't work.
some communities outrightly refuse government help cause of the small change they get from the bad roads. The younger generation is learning to hate everything about our beloved Country.
We must learn that Nigeria is made up of the people and not the place, we give our country a bad name and then turn around to curse .That doctor that acts very rudely in a government hospital is a Nigerian,the police, soldiers, thieves, politicians,buhari, cultist, rapists,con men,fulani herdsmen (Though I can't vouch for them) , Boko Haram. They are Nigerians. We fail our Nation by letting them divide us between ethnic and religious lines,by making us hate our brothers and sisters.
Now the next question is:has Nigeria failed us?yes . It has failed us in every way possible, it has failed in healthcare, security, religion, educational system, infrastructure, nature, employment and politics.It has failed us and may continue failing us .
IT'S NOW LEFT FOR US NOT TO FAIL OURSELVES.
