as liker wasted governor God will punish that cow we have a president, He is only interested in the welfare of the fulanis thereby forcing ruga on us. The fg are using money as a bait to make state govs accept the nonsense. Cattle rearing is a personal business why is the dullard using our common wealth only on Fulani miscreants...... It has finish, all this useless good for nothing southern governors don sell us for there personal gain. Why will a government establish communities for particular tribe, if they have nothing hiding, is it forbidden for fulani peoples to leave in the mix of human being? Just like like my brothers from the east, west, s- south and other tribes that will go to north and settle in the mix of human being, why can't they give there own ancestral land to other tribes that settled in there mix. 3 Likes |

“We are still practicing livestock the way it was 100 years ago. Other countries have long embraced ranching systems. It is sad that Nigeria is lagging behind countries like Kenya, Ethiopia, even Sudan in modern livestock farming”, he said. How primitive, others could have took on the challenge but they didn't in mass. The only thing I want to know is how much are the ranchers going to pay to use these facilities. They said multiple times they wont own the land. Nigeria should just take beef off the import ban list if they want cheaper prices. Ps: Does anyone know if Nigerias milk import ban spurred production of milk worked been successful? 1 Like |

Blue3k: There are a lot of things Nigeria should never be importing. Whether or not it has been successful on the short term should not negate the fact that it was an excellent policy. We all complain about the price of rice, should government give scarce forex to importers of rice, and other products to which we have comparative advantage and capacity to produce if investment is done. The kind of things Nigerian pseudo-economists argue for would get laughed at in any sane clime. |

Ehiscotch: Why should you never import beef? When did Nigeria produce enough to satisfy demands. An excellent policy is determined by the results. That hasn't been proven with this item others on ban list. Lol nigeria doesn't have comparative advantage in rice. If Nigeria had comparative advantage it would be a net exporter. Can you name a year when nigeria was a net exporter? The reason nigeria doesn't is because most farming isnt mechanized. PS: Anyone care to explain why top beef exporting countries also import? Importing beef will benefit the consumers at the end of the day suffering from food inflation.

Free grazing range by herders, he pointed out, would be made impossible, as model ranches provided with basic social facilities, would be set up to make life easier for those involved in livestock business across the state. How much are ranchers going to pay for these facilities? It's already been stared they wont own the land. These seevices shouldn't be provided for free even if they are paying taxes. The good thing about this for kogi is grazing is implicitly banned after this comes into effect. |
