Applications have opened for the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) which aims to financially empower Nigerian youths to generate at least 500,000 jobs between 2020 and 2023. The N75 billion NYIF was approved by the Federal Government on 22 July 2020 during a virtual meeting of the Federal Executive Council, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

NYIF targets young people between the ages of 18-35 years and was set up as an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development (FMYSD) and funded by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to invest in youth ideas to build sustainable businesses and increase job opportunities in Nigeria.

The fund is dedicated to investing in the innovative ideas, skills & talents of Nigerian youths aimed at turning them into entrepreneurs, wealth creators, and employers of labour, contributing to national development.

Someone who read our article yesterday and followed the application link said he successfully applied and he even shared the screenshot with us.

He said he used Chrome browser. He also said and I quote "it will give issues in the beginning but persistently it will go through."

I think the issue might be because of the traffic on the site.

Ok good you have registered. Training in is the second step as we stated in the article.

Step 2 "Applicants to attend a compulsory entrepreneurship training with an approved Federal Ministry of Youth & Sports Development (FMYSD) EDIs"

Step 3: Successfully trained prospective applicants proceed to NIRSAL Microfinance Bank (NMFB) portal to apply for the loan.

Oh yes please, the BVN is a check to ensure applicants are actually between 18-35years.

Trainings have started according the the official FB page.

Two batches - 1 and 2.

Applicants were selected randomly and sent a mail containing the instructions as per how they would go about the training.

The current training application is Zoom.

However, they are currently working on the use of Whatsapp as an additional platform.

I was sent an SMS today stating that I have been pre-qualified, a link was sent to me to further create an account with them. I filled in my BVN and created a password. after which I was told to confirm a link that would be sent to my mail. I am still waiting for that link.

The whole thing is coming from NIRSAL, I trust they will work on it soon. Please, did they ask for CAC certificate at time of registration?

You can use any, either your state of origin or where you operate from.

From experience I would suggest that of origin (quota system)
