The're is no contradictions in above. The issue is simple, NLC negotiates based on give and take. If it agrees that deregulation of petroleum price can go ahead instead of downsizing civil service, that's protecting workers' interest. If it agrees that electrity tariff can be increased to encourage foreign investors to come in provided pre-paid meters are massively imported and issued to enable members pay actually what they use, that's protecting members' interests. NLC does not focus on common good. No, it focuses on members' good.
Bottonlime: NLC is a aggregation of trade unions and not opposition party or government regulator.

I did not flip flop. You are too much in a hurry to paint me black. NLC mandate is NOT to protest but it can protest ONLY if it is necessary for the welfare its members.

You are contradicting yourself.

The argument posed by the OP is that there were policies that warranted the NLC taking to the streets as they have done severally in the past; but for reasons only they can explain, they usually will go back on it.

Now, these protesters are making that statement that they can go ahead and get things done, without the NLC which since this democracy has been the "go-to" association for protests.

PS: I am not in support of ditching the NLC though, but I think Wabba hasn't done enough.
