I have become confused myself

I ask myself what has Gowon gain from the war that led to the the death of three million children (something that still makes me hate the Hausa Fulani till today even when I am trying not to be tribalistic)

What made Ojukwu and the Igbos dislike Yoruba even when they supported us in the war

And why is it that those countries that supported Nigeria are still doing it till date except Isreal even when they know the country has failed

He is not a hero abeg.He had disregarded the agreement made during peace talk with Ojukwu in Ghana.Ojukwu made demands touching on so many things affecting us till date.He is one of the major problem....he didn't stop nepotism and failed to give us true federalism which would have solved the arrays of issues that entrenched Nigeria in her underdeveloped state

The best of a leader in a given situation might be the worst of a leader to sections of a country in a given society. Wars are fought due to conflicts that the aggrieved parties felt cheated. History if not properly informed could be distorted and the truth hidden which could formed a different opinion.
Hitler was still regarded by some section of Germany as a hero and there is nothing anyone can do about it. Actions produced reactions. What matters most is acknowledgement that some wrongs have been committed and that two wrongs never make a right.
At times it's necessary to fight but then what brought the fight. That's the Crux of the matter. Children born in 1966 rely heavily in history as told by their parents or matured minds then. Reactions depend very much on the accuracy of the story
