#endsars- FG Must Be Very Careful. by FieldMarshall06(op):
Following the protest closely, I must voice out my disappointent at the current state of the nation. Even though my disappointment matters not; I must nonetheless advise the FG to tread with caution.

I will not waste time on issues that have been addressed by many Nigerians, but I will sound some extra advise to the security services.

Please the FG needs to pay serious attention to the media. Newspapers especially PUNCH publishes twisted stories that further incites the violence. Free media is not absolute; not even in Europe and America do they have free media. You just cannot write anything that suits you or publish rumours. The Nigerian media must put national interest first in times of crises. That is the standard even in the US and Europe.

The wild publication of headlines like "bloody tuesday"; "Buhari under fire"; etc., serves a damaging effect and puts heavy pressure on the nation. This should be resisted by the broadcasting and media agencies of the Federal Government.

More alarming is the penchant for PUNCH to attract and publish foreign opinions and comments in our national issues. This is very very risky.

When US protesters rioted just recently over the killing of George Floyd, the FG did not comment, nor did Nigerian leaders condemn the killing of black Americans. The US Police killings of black Americans have been ongoing for generations. Yet, we respect ourselves. But now, we hear all sorts of comments by foreign elements, who think they have a right to tell us "what to do and what not to do". And PUNCH is quick to publish the views and opinions of external elements in our problems, putting severe pressure on the FG.

Foreign elements don't always mean well for us. Any nation that allows foreign interference in a time of crises will fall like Syria.

The same goes for the internet. Apps like Twitter, Instagram & Facebook are good for daily life. But in a time of national crises, the FG reserves the right to "shut them down" or "restrict them". The FG must acquire the capability to stop the use of those apps when misinformation is being spread, in a crises.

Thirdly, there is the need for a national Curfew or Lockdown. The FG needs to impose a national Lockdown NOW to stop the escalation of violence and destruction. A 5 days lockdown must be enforced by all security agencies. All. The Police, DSS, NSCDC, etc must enforce the lockdown. No live guns but tear gas would do to disperse crowds. This is very important, if the protest continues. We cannot allow hoodlums burn down the nation.

Please, I caution the FG to keep an eye on the media, especially PUNCH newspapers and deal ruthlessly with any publisher that undermines national interest. The FG also needs to restrict the social media, because in a time of crises, freedom can be curtailed. We must also rebuff attempts by foreign elements to tell us what to do. Every nation has its issues at this time.

Please, the FG & the security agencies must tread with caution. Lockdown the nation and WARN/WATCH THE MEDIA (PUNCH) CLOSELY.

Tell the miscreants called protesters to also be very careful.

No government would allow some nonentities to cause chaos and confusion

Another dictator in the making.
What happen to freedom of speech? Why must the government control what they want the people to hear?
Which of the information online are false; the security sponsoring of thugs or the killings by soldiers? The order of government to deploy military on the Nigeria street without any war or the the use of arms on the peaceful protesters?
Which one?

During covid lockdown, police killed young people more than covid. If there is national lockdown, police will still kill people.
We are just prospering the day of evil as a nation!!!

In the day evil, no one is safe!!!!

Why should people comment on your useless thread when you are clearly a paid government zombie who have sold his conscience for a few measly shekels?
